The 6th Street Playhouse is holding auditions for its upcoming production of "RENT," co-directed by Elizabeth Craven and David Lear, with musical direction by Justin Pyne. "RENT" will be presented in the GK Hardt Theatre from May 28 to June 27, 2010.

All roles are open for this Tony Award winning rock opera by Jonathan Larson about a group of struggling artists and musicians living in New York City's Lower East Side who find the inspiration to create and the will to survive despite insurmountable odds and the threat of AIDS.

Auditions are 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at the 6th Street Playhouse, 52 W. 6th Street, Santa Rosa. Upon arrival those auditioning will receive a registration number and audition time. Please provide two copies of headshot, resume and personal conflict calendar.

Be dressed for movement and prepared to sing a rock opera song or a song from "RENT." If performing a song from a rock opera other than "RENT," please bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided.

Callbacks will be held the evening of Monday, March 1, 2010.
