Art that revolutionized the 20th Century comes to life at THE LYCEUM THEATRE as distinguished actor/writer HERBERT SIGUENZA performs and paints on stage during SAN DIEGO REPERTORY THEATRE's workshop production of A WEEKEND WITH PABLO PICASSO. Though he is best known for his comedic work with the Latino performance troupe, Culture Clash, Siguenza was first a visual artist.

Starring nationally recognized Shakespearean actor and scholar Jonathan McMurtry*, this special event is co-produced by the North Coast Repertory Theatre (NCR) and will feature a cast of seasoned professional actors mixed with top aspiring MiraCosta student actors. NCR's artistic director, David Ellenstein will direct; assistant director is MiraCosta's Tracy Williams.

Cygnet Theatre Company, currently presenting August Wilson's The Piano Lesson, is proud to offer off-night encore performances of the San Diego Black Theatre Collective's On the Horizon staged-reading series, featuring new plays by writers of diversity. The readings include Trane, A Noble Journey, directed by Hassan El-Amin; Ain't You Heard, directed by Calvin Manson; and The Strangest Fruit, directed by Antonio TJ Johnson and will run Tuesday nights February 9th, 16th and 23rd at 7pm in Cygnet's Old Town Theatre.

The Folk Collection could just as well be named "Your Favorite Songs of the 60s Folk Era" group. Tony Unger, Ed Labowitz and Mike Sirota, along with bass man Bob Packham, grew up in the 1960's, when they fell in love with the story songs and 3-part harmonies of that acoustic era. Ed and Tony have been a duo on and off since their days at Hollywood High School. Mike joined the group in 2003 and Bob in early 2005.
