PPAC Announces Winners of ARTS Scholarships 2010 Program

Jo-Ann Ragosta, Chairperson of the ARTS Scholarships 2010 program, along with the members of the Community Outreach Committee of the Providence Performing Arts Center, are pleased to announce today the winners of the ARTS Scholarships 2010 program, sponsored by Textron Inc. with support from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation, and the PPAC Annual Fund Donors.

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) is pleased to present an exciting series of educational and cultural events for the community celebrating the theater's upcoming production of Tom Stoppard's epic play Rock 'n' Roll. Inspired by Stoppard's 2006 masterpiece and focusing on the fall of communist dictatorships in Eastern Europe -- specifically 1989's 'Velvet Revolution' in what is now the Czech Republic -- The Gamm will engage scholars and audiences in an ambitious series of lectures, panel discussions and talk-backs exploring the role of art, music, and theater in political transformation.

The Gamm Theatre Board of Directors along with Honorary Chairs U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Dr. Sandra Whitehouse invite arts supporters to join them at the non-profit theater s eighth annual fundraising event on Saturday, April 10 at 6 p.m. Festivities include the honoring of Board President Coline Covington, Board Member and Resident Actor Samuel F.
