Trinity Rep Extends MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL Extends Through 7/25
GFOUR Productions, producers of the off-Broadway smash hit Menopause the Musical®, is pleased to announce that its special engagement at Trinity Repertory Company hasbeen extended by popular demand. An extra week has been added in July, extending the runthrough July 25.
Additional performances will take place on July 20-24 at 7:30PM, as well as July24-25 at 2PM.
Billed as "The Hilarious Celebration of Women and The Change®," the original, off-Broadwaymusical begins with four women, "Professional Woman," "Soap Star," "Iowa Housewife" and "Earth Mother," at a Bloomingdale's lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra -and hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex andday-to-day challenges with parents, children and partners.
They share their ups and downs through a collection of classic baby boomer songs from the 60s,70s and 80s. Disco hit "Stayin' Alive" becomes "Stayin' Awake," Motown favorite "My Guy" istransformed into "My Thighs," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" switches to "In the Guest Room or onthe Sofa, My Husband Sleeps at night," and "Puff The Magic Dragon" becomes the anthem toexercise, "Puff, My God I'm Draggin'."Menopause The Musical® has a 2 PM curtain time for all matinees and a 7:30 PM curtain time forall evening performances.
