Review: CARL ORFF: CARMINA BURANA at Robinson Center in Little Rock
Arkansas: Theresa Bertram • March 10, 2026
Some pieces of music are simply larger than life, and Carmina Burana is definitely one of them. With its thunderous choruses and dramatic storytelling, it’s the kind of work that sends chills through your entire body when performed well.

Review: Davidsen, an ISOLDE for the Ages, Alongside Spyres' Splendid TRISTAN in Wagner at the Met
Opera: Richard Sasanow • March 10, 2026
Voice! Voice! And more voice! That’s what we got from the Met’s new production of Wagner’s TRISTAN UND ISOLDE last night, especially from the glorious soprano of Lise Davidsen as the Irish princess Isolde, with no small help from her Tristan, baritenor Michael Spyres.

Review: A MIRROR at Third Rail Repertory Theatre
Oregon: Krista Garver • March 10, 2026
When seeing a new-to-me play, I typically try to walk in knowing as little as possible. I love the joy of discovery. That approach has never served me better than it did for A MIRROR, Sam Holcroft's gripping play now running at Third Rail Repertory Theatre.
Review: POTUS at The Contemporary
Review: POTUS at The Contemporary
Delaware: Greer Firestone • March 10, 2026
Producing a play called POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive in today’s political climate takes nerve. Aisle Say applauds Kerry Kristine McElone and the Board of City Theatre for having exactly that kind of chutzpah. Mounting this razor-edged farce at a moment when American politics already feels like theater—often absurd theater—is both daring and deliciously appropriate.

It’s very seldom these days that an original play check sall the boxes, yet Mrs. Christie manages to do exactly that. A fantastical show with mystery, quirky characters, and deeper themes, Mrs. Christie is sure to have something for everyone!

Review: FAT HAM at Orlando Shakes
Review: FAT HAM at Orlando Shakes
Orlando: Benoit Teves • March 10, 2026
Orlando Shakes’ production of FAT HAM is a sensory-rich, unapologetically Black, and proudly queer reimagining of Hamlet that trades Shakespearean tragedy for hard-won joy. Set against a stunningly detailed backyard cookout, Je’Shaun Jackson’s stylized performance as Juicy anchors a vivid ensemble that navigates familial duty and identity with breakneck pace and ear-watering humor. Ultimately, this breath of fresh ai' production asks the vital modern question: to be what others expect, or to be unapologetically yourself?

Review: Umbrella Stage Company's TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Keeps Harper Lee Classic Vividly Alive
Boston: R. Scott Reedy • March 10, 2026
Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 1960 novel “To Kill a Mockingbird,” about the fictional small town of Maycomb, Alabama, in the Depression-era South grappling with violence and racial inequality, along with issues of class, courage, and compassion, is a classic of modern American literature and one of the best-selling books of all time.

Review: JAJA'S AFRICAN HAIR BRAIDING at The Contemporary Theatre Of Ohio
Columbus: Paul Batterson • March 10, 2026
Whether it is Floyd’s Barber Shop in THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW, Truvy’s Beauty Salon in STEEL MAGNOLIAS or even the Suburban Salon in EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, hair care is the center of society. Gossip is distributed like shampoo, lies are covered up like hair dye, and life’s tangled knots are cut away in small talk among friends.

Review: EVERYBODY at Kansas City Actors Theatre

The new Kansas City Actors Theater production of “Everybody” is a sly meditation on the human condition. It is a riff on the oldest known surviving play in English called “Everyman.”

Review: BRIGHT STAR Takes Center Stage at Manatee Players
Tampa: Drew Eberhard • March 9, 2026
Bright Star is a Bluegrass/Folk musical written and composed by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. Its tale is set in the vast landscape of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains between the years 1945-46, and features flashbacks to the year 1923. The pair produced a Grammy-winning album in 2013 entitled Love Has Come For You, in which the musical is inspired by its lyric-scape and the true story of the Iron Mountain Baby.
