Now in its sixth year, the Portland-grown Fertile Ground City-Wide Festival of New Work continues to flourish planted in a town of prolific playwrights, abundant actors, innovative dancers, talented designers and adventuresome producers. With many returning companies as well as new producers, FG14 brings dozens upon dozens of new artistic works from Portland's teeming jungle of artists to light to thrive on stages, nooks and crannies all over Portland for 11 days from Thursday, January 23 to Sunday, February 2, 2014.
Milagro receives $35,646 in Grants to Support Original Programming and Community Engagement

Miracle Theatre Group (dba Milagro), the Northwest's premier Latino arts and culture organization, was recently awarded 4 grants totaling $35,646 in support of creative community engagement efforts, an annual dinner celebrating the Day of the Dead, the traditional holiday celebration Posada Milagro, and general operating support and technical assistance.
Oregon Shakespeare Festival Receives $1 Million Grant from Doris Duke Charitable Foundation

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) has been chosen by The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF) to receive a $1 million grant to aid the Festival as it adapts to changing conditions in the performing arts sector. OSF is among five arts organizations to receive a grant under this pilot project, which awards organizations with a strong track record of adaptability. American Repertory Theater (Cambridge, MA), On the Boards (Seattle, WA), Wesleyan University's Center for the Arts (Middletown, CT), and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company (Washington, D.C.) also received grants ranging from $300,000 to $1 million.
