Oregon Children's Theatre Names Winners of Young Playwrights for Change Contest

Oregon Children's Theatre (OCT) has announced the winner and finalists of their third Young Playwrights for Change playwriting contest. The winning scripts will be performed in a staged reading on April 25th at 7:30pm at the Winningstad Theatre in downtown Portland. The event is free and open to the public, but general seating can be reserved by calling the OCT Box Office at 503-228-9571.

Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land by acclaimed Taiwanese playwright Stan Lai will have its U.S. premiere as one of 11 plays running in repertory during the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's 2015 season. Mr. Lai will also direct Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, which opens April 19 and runs through October 31 in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. Preview performances are April 15, 17 and 18.

Artists Repertory Theatre is proud to present Portland audiences with The Invisible Hand by Ayad Akhtar, directed by former Artistic Director Allen Nause, beginning March 10, 2015. This production is in association with Seattle's ACT Theatre and follows their production of the play last September with much of the same design team, but includes two new cast members. ACT's production was named 'Best Play' in the Broadway World 2014 Seattle Critic's Choice Awards. At the end of 2014, The Invisible Hand was produced Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop.
