Last year, the August Wilson Center for African American Culture formed a partnership with American Urban Radio Networks and their nationally syndicated program, The Bev Smith Show, to host four town hall meetings at the August Wilson Center. These meetings, broadcast live nationwide in front of a local audience, focus on the broad topic of the 'Disappearing Black Community and How We Can Get it Back.' An open and honest dialogue on this subject is well within The Center?s mission and strategic thrust to work concentrically (from local to regional to national and international) and collaboratively to preserve, present, interpret celebrate and shape the art, culture and history of African Americans.
