As a film screenwriting major at Arizona State University he was 'dragged' to his first audition by his classmate in a beginning acting class, a requirement for his degree. His first show at Desert Stages Theatre was the iconic 'West Side Story' in which he played 'Action' and the rest as they say is history! Shoffman has become one of the who's who of local valley actors and his talent and drive has rewarded him with 2 AriZoni Awards for acting for his work in DST's 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' and the legendary John Merrick in 'The Elephant Man'.
