Actors Theatre's 'No Sweat (For You)' Summer Season to Continue with Sally Jo Bannow & Scorpius Dance

Sally Jo Bannow will perform a musical celebration of one of the world's most beloved body parts when she takes the stage in The Boob Show at 10 p.m., Friday, July 18, 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 20 and 7 p.m. on Friday, August 3 as part of Actors Theatre's "No Sweat (For You)" summer season.

Bannow co-wrote the book, lyrics and music with Craig Bohmler as a tribute to those famous glands, whether big, small, scared, saggy or man-boobs. She also created all of the busts seen on the set, each decorated in accordance with some aspect of the character it represents.

At 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 and 10 p.m. on August 1, Scorpius Dance Theatre will reinvent Artistic Director Lisa Starry's 2005 show, Intimate, featuring breathtaking solos, seductive duets and energetic group pieces.

Both shows will be staged at Black Theatre Troupe, 1333 E. Washington St. in Phoenix. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online at www.actorstheatrephx.org.

The summer season's two main shows, The Book Club Play and The Cottage continue through August 17 and August 10, respectively, also at Black Theatre Troupe.

The rest of the summer schedule includes A Night With Noel, hosted by Ian Christiansen, Saturday, July 26 at 10 p.m. at 7 p.m.; That's Life: >From Sinatra to Sondheim, featuring Kristen Drathman, Rusty Ferracane and Craig Bohmler, Sunday, July 27 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, August 10 at 7p.m.; Two Shots, written and performed by Ben Tyler and David Barker, Wednesday, July 30 at 7 p.m.; and Black and 25 in America, written and performed by Jeremy Gillett, Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.
