The Orchestra of the Filipino Youth (OFY) will be joined by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra (ABSCBNPO) and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) under the batons of Gerard Salonga & Olivier Ochanine in "ANG SISTEMA: THE YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONCERENCE" - a joint concert & conference to be held on at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Guest Artists will include Filipino concert pianist Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz, Taiwanese pianist Chi-Ying Hung, NAMCYA 1st Prize Winner in Marimba Thristan 'Tum-Tum' Mendoza, singers Jade Riccio & Malvin Beethoven Macasaet, and introducing 12-year-old pianist Brian Berino.
The conference part of the CONCERENCE will have annotations as well as Q&A segments conducted by Jamie Bernstein - director of the film documentary 'Crescendo: the Power of Music' & the daughter of the legendary quintessential Artist Leonard Bernstein, and Tricia Tunstall - author of 'Changing Lives: Gustavo Dudamel, El Sistema, & the Transformative Power of Music'. The concert portion will feature a vast array of works written by the great Classical Music Masters from the 18th Century until today, from Beethoven to Bernstein, from traditional to popular.
