In honor of Winnie the Pooh Day, the cast of Disney's Winnie the Pooh appeared on Good Morning America today for a special performance. The segment also included an interview with Jake Bazel, the puppeteer and voice actor who plays Pooh Bear in the current Off-Broadway production.

Corbin Bleu performed The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh theme song alongside a montage of puppets ahead of the upcoming off-Broadway run of Winnie the Pooh: The New Musical Adaptation, coming to New York City this October.

With Mary Poppins Returns coming to movie theaters in a week, I thought the perfect  #TBT would be a look back at the Opening Night of Mary Poppins on Broadway. So I dove back into the BroadwayWorld archives and found the 2006 video (when we were formerly known as BroadwayBeat) with Ashley Brown, straight from starring as 'Belle' Beauty and the Beast on Broadway! And lets not forget Gavin Lee who made his Broadway debut with Mary Poppins.

On this day in 2004, Disney's Mary Poppins arrived at Broadway's magnificent New Amsterdam Theatre in a musical so extraordinarily enchanting, that audiences had just one word for it: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Yesterday an all-new death metal cover of the MARY POPPINS classic, 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' hit YouTube, superimposed over footage from the classic Disney film.

On December 20, Disney's new biographical film about the making of Mary Poppins, SAVING MR. BANKS, will hit theatres. Starring Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman, Bradley Whitford, Annie Rose Buckley, Ruth Wilson, B.J. Novak, Rachel Griffiths and Kathy Baker, it opens in limited theaters on December 13. In the video below, Richard Sherman, one half of the songwriting team that scored the 1964 film, chats with CBS about creating the songs and bringing them back to life now.

Since its release in 1964, 'Mary Poppins' has dazzled millions of moviegoers with its beautiful songs, witty banter, and heartfelt storyline. Tony Winner, Disney Legend Lea Salonga ('Miss Saigon,' 'Les Miserables') opened this year's Lincoln Center presents 'American Songbook' concert series, a 15-year-old annual tribute to great American songwriters, past and present, to sold-out crowd at The Allen Room, Jazz at Lincoln Center last night. The Sherman Brothers, Richard and Robert, the musical geniuses behind "Mary Poppins," "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang" and "Winnie the Pooh" may have another theatrical success on the way. Prior to Robert's death in March of this year, the brothers composed the words and music for "MerryGoRound," a new Broadway musical which, originally scheduled for Spring 2011, is now anticipating its New York debut later this year, 2013, with producer Jack Stein and director Andrew Belling. To commemorate the death of Robert Sherman, who died yesterday in London, aged 86, here is the trailer for the 2009-10 Disney documentary THE BOYS: THE SHERMAN BROTHERS STORY.

The new Disney animated feature WINNIE THE POOH was released in theaters nationwide in July 2011. John Cleese and Craig Ferguson are among the stars lending their voices to the film, which includes a new version of The Sherman Brothers classic, 'Winnie the Pooh', sung by actress Zooey Deschanel. Tony Award winner Lopez and his collaborator/wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez have composed several songs for an all new film. Anderson-Lopez also voices the character of ‘Kanga' in the film. The Awards Gala, which took place at the New York Players Club, was directed by Tony Walton. Aaron Gandy served as Musical Director.

Filmmakers Gregory V. Sherman and Jeffrey C. Sherman explore the brothers' peripatetic childhoods, marriages, early careers and close personal and professional relationship with pioneering filmmaker and studio chief Walt Disney to create a unique portrait of these two extremely gifted but very different artists.
