Today we rewind to 2018 for the 15th Anniversary concert of Thoroughly Modern Millie! The musical opened on Broadway on April 18, 2002 at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 903 performances.

Today we rewind to 2013, when Cinderella was getting ready to arrive on Broadway, starring Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Victoria Clark, and Harriet Harris. The musical opened on March 3 at the Broadway Theatre, where it went on to play 769 performances. 

BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge continues his journey with the latest  Broadway Rewind, which  takes the audience to Town Hall for the 4th annual ABC Daytime Salutes BC/EFA, but we start things off by meeting the company and bringing you a sneak peek at the Broadway musical Cry Baby, which is based on the hit John Waters film. It starred James Snyder, Elizabeth Stanley and Harriet Harris. Waters told me how he felt about being asked to turn one of his other hit films into a Broadway musical. 'I was thrilled because I had just had such a wonderful experience with Hairspray and to be honest, Cry Baby was the only real musical movie I ever made. Hairspray was a dance movie. The music in this is such a breath of new talent on Broadway.'

Two-time Tony winner Joe DiPietro's newest play CONSCIENCE is set to begin performances tonight at George Street Playhouse's new home at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. On Saturday night, Chance the Rapper did double duty hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live. During his SNL musical performance, Chance performed his new song 'Zanies and Fools,' which opened with a video of his daughter singing a?oeImpossible/It's Possiblea?? from Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella. 

THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH is one of two Pulitzer Prize winning plays by Thorton Wilder. Though the other, OUR TOWN, is far better known and far more frequently produced. The title comes from a phrase in the book of Job (19:20) and refers to the commonly used expression: to have escaped by the skin of one's teeth. The biblical reference is rather fitting. Like the bible, this play is meant to express an abstract or spiritual meaning through concrete or material form; a symbolical narrative. Biblical references are woven through this allegorical play that in the course of three acts spans thousands of years of human experience.

Bristol Riverside Theatre continues its 2018-19 season with the world premiere of the new musical comedy The Rivals, based on the famously funny farce about Mrs. Malaprop, running October 30 - November 18. Check out footage of the cast in rehearsal below!
