Andy Blankenbuehler has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Choreography for Bandstand. Mr. Blankenbuehler won a 2008 Tony Award for his choreography in the Tony Award winning Best Musical In The Heights (also Lortel Award, Outer Critics Award and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Choreography). He also choreographed the Broadway revival of The Apple Tree.

Hamilton was in da house! Welcome home, Bandstand! Just last night, a brand new musical took its place on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler, (Hamilton) with music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, Bandstand stars Corey Cott and Laura Osnes. The company celebrated at the Hotel Edison and BroadwayWorld is taking you inside the special night below!

The brand new musical Bandstand, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) with music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, opens on Wednesday, April 26 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

All rulers have their time, but the throne must never be empty. Watch Broadway's departing King George, Taran Killam, on today's Ham4Ham as he abdicates his post and celebrates the coronation of Hamilton's new (and original) King George, Brian D'Arcy James.

In preparation for his April 14 return as King George III, Brian D'Arcy James recorded the pre-show message to the audience and posted a video to Instagram.
