This morning, Brittney Johnson appeared on the Today Show to discuss being the first Black woman to take over the role of Glinda in Wicked on Broadway. Johnson was surprised by original 'Glinda' Kristin Chenoweth, who sent in a congratulatory video message. She also appeared on NBC Nightly News to take viewers backstage at Wicked.

Thank goodness! This evening Brittney Johnson took her first bow as Glinda in Wicked on Broadway! Ms. Johnson is the first Black actress to assume the iconic role. 

Reopening features behind-the-scenes access to shows including 'Wicked,' 'Jagged Little Pill,' 'The Phantom of the Opera,' 'Diana,' 'Come From Away,' 'Waitress,' and more, following each production's journey as cast and crew reunite, rehearse and re-stage for their long-anticipated reopening nights.

Last night, Wicked was one of four beloved musicals to resume performances on Broadway, following a 18-month hiatus. Amazon Prime has released the trailer for the muscial finale of Transparent, written by Jill Soloway and starring Judith Light Gaby Hoffmann, Amy Landecker, Jay Duplass, Alexandra Billings, Kathryn Hahn, Shakina Nayfack, and Trace Lysetteand. It was previously announced that Jeffrey Tambor would not return for the finale, and that the musical episode deals with the loss of Tambor's character Maura.
