Starting January 12, 2022 Kansas City Actors Theatre will present “The Pests” in a new adaptation and translation of Molière's “Les Fâcheux” by Dr. Felicia Londré. “The Pests” is presented as part of “KC MOlière: 400 in 2022,” a multi-year celebration of the seminal French playwright in honor of what would be his 400th birthday on opening night, January 15, 2022.
The company is working with community partners to invite children to see a family friendly production each season. The goal is to bring 1,000 children to see a production. One performance ticket is distributed for every $50 tax-deductible donation.
Each play will have 1 preview and four performances, and separate Zoom discussion with the cast and directors. The company also hopes to stream the plays for a week following the live performances but have not yet received clearance from the Actor’s Union.
