The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival returns for its 24th season with five concerts in August. Music lovers of all stripes should take note of CSMF's exciting lineup, which celebrates the Festival's return after a two year Covid hiatus.

Shubert New Haven announces that Broadway’s NORM LEWIS will be the featured performer for the Shubert Theatre’s 2022 Gala on June 8. Chita Rivera – who was originally scheduled to headline the Gala – has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to perform. The Duke's Theatre Company returns after their critically acclaimed adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. It promises to delight audiences with Shakespeare's most celebrated and comic fairy tale.

Long Wharf Theatre yesterday announced the launch of its 2022/2023 season, “Everywhere for Everyone.” Under its new model, audiences will see programming radiating out from the institution's storied home at 222 Sargent Drive and into communities across Greater New Haven.

Paper Mill Playhouse announced that the theater’s annual Gala, which was held at the Hilton Short Hills on Friday, May 20, was sold out and raised almost $1.2 million with the most successful Live Auction in Paper Mill's 84-year history.  

Sonia Manzano, who portrayed ‘Maria’ on “Sesame Street” from 1971-2015 attended the matinee performance yesterday (Sunday, 5/22) of ROMEO & BERNADETTE.  She and Mark Saltzman, the book & lyric writer of the show, worked together on the show for many years.

The Off-Broadway production of Romeo & Bernadette: A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn, with book and lyrics by Mark Saltzman, music adapted from classic Italian melodies, directed and choreographed by Justin Ross Cohen, and starring the original cast,  officially opened on Monday, May 16 at Theater 555 (555 West 42nd Street - between 10th and 11th Avenues).

The world premiere of a brand-new musical Your Lie in April finally opened its curtain to a house full of enthusiastic audience at the prestigious Nissay Theatre on Saturday, May 7th in Tokyo two years after the cancellation of the world premiere in 2020 due to the pandemic.

American Blues Theater has announced the cast of August Wilson’s Fences, directed by Monty Cole. The intimate and up-close production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama will play to a capacity of 60 people per performance from July 1-August 6, 2022, at Theater Wit,1229 W. Belmont Ave.

The Franklin Stage Company, Delaware County's renowned classical summer theater, announces their 26th season, from July 1st weekend through August 21. “We're so excited to be able to bring a full season of art and performance back to our Chapel Hall performance space” said Patricia Buckley, Co-Artistic Director of the theater. “We've got a stellar season that we can't wait to bring to the Western Catskills.” 

The Richard Tucker Music Foundation today announces the 2022 recipients of its prestigious Richard Tucker Award, Richard Tucker Career Grant, and Sara Tucker Study Grant.

Joining the previously announced David Harbour and Bill Pullman are Hanako Footman, Akiya Henry, Sinead Matthews, Charlie Oscar and Stephen Wight. Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, the production opens on 26 June at the Ambassadors Theatre, with previews from 15 June, and runs until 4 September.
