Actress/singer par excellence Lisa Donahey presented her Big 50th Birthday Bash at Feinstein's Upstairs at Vitello's Friday July 19 and did an encore performance Sunday July 21. I attended Friday and had a great time. Donahey has an infectious personality. Her charisma is enormous, as she talks directly to her audience, including them in the repartee - with a bevy of surprises - and has a joyous time doing it. Backed by six extraordinary musicians* with virtuoso musical director David Arana at the keyboard, the show came in at almost two hours, but was so enjoyable, the time flew by, literally. Donahey had two glorious backup singers Lyndsay Dodoras and Billye Johnstone

Garth Brooks is set for his first DIVE BAR concert at Joe's on Weed Street in Chicago on July 15th. The news was announced today on Chicago country radio stations, WUSN and WEBG. Tickets for the concert will be available to win exclusively on those two stations. All ticket holders must be 21 and over. This will be the first of seven DIVE BAR concerts this summer, with the rest to be announced soon.

Four straight days of sold-out shows and capacity crowds, as well as surprise performances and collaborations, made the 48th annual CMA Fest one for the record books. Producer Kevin McCollum announced today that the new musical, Mrs. Doubtfire, will premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre this fall on route to Broadway.  The musical features a book Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, the Tony Award nominated team behind Something Rotten!  Four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!) will direct and Lorin Latarro (Waitress) will choreograph.  Ethan Popp (Tina) will serve as Music Supervisor.

A&E Network's genre-defining Emmy Award-winning 'Biography' is set to air a four-part television special on six-time CMA Entertainer of the Year, Garth Brooks. 'Garth: The Road I'm On (working title)' is slated to air 2019 4Q on A&E. The special will highlight the prolific career of the best-selling solo artist of all time through never-before-seen interviews with Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, the original road band and others from Garth's personal and music family. The special will also showcase unprecedented behind-the-scenes access from his stadium tour, which has already set records in its first five cities. Additionally, 'Garth: The Road I'm On (working title)' provides an in-depth look at the seminal hit songs from his seven RIAA Diamond Award winning albums and more. Featuring exclusive historical footage and personal recollections from Garth and others from the early days of his journey.

Garth Brooks has received iHeart Radio's inaugural Artist of the Decade Award. The award was presented to him tonight at the iHeartRadio awards in Los Angeles by Chris Pratt.
