Theatrical Outfit will present A Christmas Story this holiday season, running November 29 – December 24, 2023 live on stage at the newly renovated Balzer Theater at Herren’s.

Theatrical Outfit will continue its 22-23 Season with the co-production of Sean Daniels’ The White Chip – a hilarious and honest look at sobriety. Theatrical Outfit and Dad’s Garage join forces to bring this New York Times Critic’s Pick to ATL for the very first time. The White Chip will run at Dad’s Garage (while Theatrical outfit continues its ‘Heart of the City’ Capital Campaign construction) from January 25 – February 19, 2023.

Theatrical Outfit was awarded a grant by Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), a strategic arm of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, as part of its initial disbursement of grants for fiscal year 2023.

Theatrical Outfit has announced its 2022 – 2023 Season – a truly game-changing year. With four gripping Mainstage productions and the continuations of Made In Atlanta, The Graham Martin Unexpected Play Festival, and The Welcome Table, the season will bring powerful, relevant, and thrilling live theatre to the heart of Downtown Atlanta.

For one of the most popular operas in the traditional repertoire--ABC in the opera world means AIDA, BOHEME and CARMEN--the work by Bizet has had to have more lives than the proverbial cat to get there. The version, now called THE THREEPENNY CARMEN, by the Atlanta Opera’s General and Artistic Director and frequent stage director Tomer Zvulun--now available as a film with subtitles, from Zvulun and filmmaker Felipe Barral. It is current proof that opera doesn’t have to stand still like a statue in an art museum to show that it is alive and well and, this time around, living in Texas.

The Firehouse Theatre has announced its 2021 Season. With plans to host performances at both indoor and outdoor venues in 2021, the theatre’s new season of musical productions includes Cotton Patch Gospel, Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, In the Heights and more.

Next Thursday, April 15, sees the launch of The Atlanta Opera’s live, in-person spring season, highlighted by the world premiere productions of new adaptations of two iconic operas, both deconstructed for our challenging times by General & Artistic Director Tomer Zvulun.

Dubbed “The Greatest Story Ever Re-Told,” Cotton Patch Gospel is the exuberant musical that tells the story of the life of Jesus but set in modern-day, rural Georgia. 

After the success of its acclaimed fall offerings, now The Atlanta Opera presents an equally innovative spring lineup of live, in-person events, highlighted by the world premiere productions of new adaptations of two iconic operas.

On Tuesday, December 15 at 8pm EST, tune in for Georgia Artists for Georgia’s Future: A Benefit Concert to Flip the Senate! The one-night event stars and celebrates performers, playwrights, and politicians born in or currently living in Georgia, and benefits the Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff Senate campaigns.

After 25 years as the Artistic Director of downtown Atlanta's Theatrical Outfit (T.O.), Tom Key retires from the position on June 30, 2020. The City of Atlanta and Fulton County are honoring the veteran actor, director and arts leader with proclamations and Theatrical Outfit is naming its new Apprenticeship Program in his honor.
