Following the incredibly warm and rousing reception from D23 EXPO fans in 2013, Disney Theatrical Productions is thrilled to announce a new concert presented exclusively for this year's D23 EXPO

The casts of Broadway's LION KING and ALADDIN found themselves with some extra time when their Orlando-bound flight from New York's LaGuardia Airport was delayed six hours.

Wharton Center has been awarded a $100,000 grant from Disney to help bring the Disney Musicals in Schools program to mid-Michigan. The Center was one of only four arts organizations in the nation and the only one in Michigan selected this year.

The 2014-2015 season has been jam-packed with exciting entertainment, fabulous stars and unforgettable nights that only live theatre can provide and this week one of the oldest awards institutions held their annual star-studded celebration honoring the best, brightest and, in many cases, newest top talent to appear on the scene this year, the 2015 Theatre World Awards. Standing out out from the pack of similar events around this time of year, the Theatre World Awards is voted on by a committee of top theatre professionals and this year's show was again directed by Barry Keating and hosted by Peter Filicia. The 71st presentation of the awards - and, yes, it is older than the Tony Awards and the Drama Desk Awards - was marked by a sensational ceremony at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway, home of the rapturously received revival of ON THE TOWN, and I was lucky enough to get a fly-on-the-wall view of not only the big awards show itself, but the rehearsal, as well - and chat with some of the starry attendees and winners, as well. Here are some of the standout moments in an unforgettable evening.

The Boston debut of ELF THE BROADWAY MUSICAL, the return of last season's holiday hit Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, the Tony Award-winning musical ONCE,  the perennially popular RAIN: A TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES; Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal, stars of the 1970 classic romantic movie Love Story, reunited on stage in LOVE LETTERS, a new production of THE WIZARD OF OZ,  and the international Irish dance phenomenon RIVERDANCE - The 20th Anniversary World Tour  are coming in the 2015-16 season to the Citi Performing Arts Center.

The McLean Community Players' production of Jesus Christ Superstar opens July 10 at the Alden Theatre in the McLean Community Center.

The Muny announced today the cast for its production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast (July 29 - August 7). With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton, this beloved family classic is directed by Matt Lenz, choreographed by Vince Pesce and music directed by Ben Whiteley.

On her appointment Tamara Harvey said: 'I am thrilled to have been invited to be the artistic director of Clwyd Theatr Cymru at such an exciting moment in its history. Terry Hands has done an extraordinary job in building a family of artists and producing brilliant work for a growing loyal audience. Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today the spring 2015 honorees recognizing theatre accomplishments by Minnesota students and schools participating in the 2014-15 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program culminating in the SpotLight Showcase Sunday, June 14 and Monday, June 15 at the State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., downtown Minneapolis). Now celebrating its Tenth Anniversary, SpotLight is the Trust's premier education initiative which supports and honors Minnesota high school musical theatre students and programs that produce annual musicals. Minnesota native, award-winning Broadway performer and former SpotLight participant, Laura Osnes, is the current SpotLight spokesperson.

Stanford University's DEPARTMENT OF THEATER & PERFORMANCE STUDIES (TAPS) closes its 2014-15 performance season with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Tony Award-winning rock opera EVITA.

The explosive new production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's ground-breaking rock opera, is set to continue its major UK tour into the autumn, coming to the King's Theatre Glasgow from Monday 5 to Saturday 10 October 2015.
