Kings Theatre is hosting the national tour of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. - the ultimate tribute to the legendary Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, October 6 – 8, 2022.

In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, Ferocious Lotus Theatre Company presents EVOLUTION, a festival of six original short plays exploring what it means to be Asian/Asian-American (initially slated to premiere in 2020). This show, a co-production with TheatreFirst, is the Company's first in-person production since the pandemic. 

BroadwayWorld catches up with virtuoso pianist & actor Hershey Felder about his new show 'Hershey Felder: Chopin in Paris' running live at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley August 19 to September 11 in Mountain View, CA. This marks Felder's long-awaited return to the Bay Area, where he has developed a quite a devoted following over the years.

Teal Wicks will join the cast of DUETS: The Concert Series Volume 8 at 54 Below on August 19th, 9:30pm.

Weightless will play a limited engagement from September 17–October 16, 2022 at WP Theater, with support from piece by piece productions. The off-Broadway stage premiere of this soaring and dynamic indie rock musical follows the smash success of Weightless on screen, which was reconceived for film and live-streamed by WP in a limited run in 2021.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company will present the Steppenwolf for Young Adults’ world premiere of 1919, adapted by J. Nicole Brooks from Eve L. Ewing’s collection of luminous and searing poems about the killing of Black teenager Eugene Williams in 1919 off the segregated Chicago lakeshore – and how this tragedy reverberates today.

Bed and Breakfast is a theatrical tour de force as riotously funny as it is deeply moving. With more than a few unexpected and hilarious plot twists, we follow Brett and Drew over the course of one year — through the real estate rat race, renovation hell and encounters with small-town expectations.  

Colt Coeur will present the World Premiere of Dodi & Diana, by Kareem Fahmy. Commissioned by Colt Coeur and directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Eureka Day), Dodi & Diana begins previews on October 1, 2022, for a strictly limited engagement through October 29, 2022, at HERE.

The cast has been announced for the Roundabout Underground world premiere of the bandaged place by Harrison David Rivers. The cast includes Stephanie Berry as “Geraldine Irby,” Jake Ryan Lozano as “Sam Yates,” Sasha Camille Manuel as “Ella Irby,” Anthony Lee Medina as “Ruben Torres,” Jhardon Dishon Milton as “Jonah Irby.”

Abingdon Theatre Company has announced two new Artists in Residence for their upcoming 30th Season beginning in the fall. Reynaldo Piniella and Pierre Marais are set to be the next participants in the Carolyn Halpert Artist in Residence Program, which began in 2017.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the first Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Joining the cast are Nadia Daniel and Jurnee Elizabeth Swan. Rounding out the company are Shirine Babb, Charles Browning, Peter Jay Fernandez, Sharina Martin, Warner Miller, Doron JePaul Mitchell and Kim Sullivan.

On September 2nd,  TheatreWorks New Milford will present the heart-warming comedy, Morning's At Seven by Paul Osborn.

The national tour of the 2019 Drama Desk Award winner for Outstanding Musical “The Prom” will play at Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre from August 9 through September 11, 2022 and will open August 10, 2022.

Out of the Box Theatrics announced they will produce the first Off-Broadway revival of the critically acclaimed musical, Floyd Collins. The production, to be directed by Christina Sajous (Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, American Idiot; Out of the Box Theatrics’ 2019 production of Baby), will play from November 11 through December 18, 2022.

Montana TheatreWorks, producers of Damn Yankees, Annie, and Oklahoma! presents The Sound of Music at The Ellen Theatre, August 5- 21.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announced its 52nd season, featuring six plays and musicals to be presented November 2022 through August 2023. Three of the season's productions will be mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and three will be staged at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre.
