UNDERGROUND brings an immersive, world-premiere musical inspired by the discography of Ben Folds to the stage. Set in a local pub, the show is a lot of fun as the audiences get to enjoy the games, drinks, and an atmosphere where everybody has a story and working in hospitality is never boring. UNDERGROUND is playing at Coronado Playhouse through July 30th.

Apollinaire Theatre Company, in collaboration with Teatro Chelsea and the City of Chelsea, will present an innovative production of William Shakespeare's timeless masterpiece. This immersive, on-your-feet, bilingual adaptation of Hamlet is designed to engage English-speaking and Spanish-speaking audiences alike. Spectators will be invited into this world of intrigue, passion, and poetry, and become an integral part of telling Hamlet's tragic tale.

What did our critic think of SIX THE MUSICAL at Blumenthal Performing Arts?

On Friday, July 7th, I had the pleasure of yet again being blown away by the incredible talent that Musicals at Richter, in Danbury, CT has found to star in their show, this time, being a musical comedy that I have never seen before, THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

Black Ensemble Theater kicks off the return of its smash-hit summer series “Fridays on the Green” on Friday, July 21 on the Black Ensemble lawn at Clark and Sunnyside.

While this Muny production is more similar to the original West End production in London versus the Broadway rewrite, CHESS is still more of a concert-like production. While the actors, ensemble and orchestra perform this material masterfully, the story doesn’t fully capture the competitive nature of the Chess champions or the tensions of the cold war. The love story is slightly more compelling, but the lack of a well-written and emotional narrative does not allow the audience to fully connect to the story and softens the overall production. This production of CHESS is a must-see for those who love this score. This is not a musical that packs a powerful emotional wallop. If that is more of what you’re looking for then wait for WEST SIDE STORY or RENT.

Mattel, alongside Warner Music Group’s Arts Music Division announced the vinyl soundtrack for Monster High The Movie, the highly successful live-action movie musical based on the iconic franchise about the children of famous monsters and creatures, available now for pre-order.

Following the album announcement from the Grand Ole Opry stage, Cooke, “known for her honeyed vocals and personal songwriting” (American Songwriter), continues to give fans a glimpse into the heartfelt depths of her debut collection with brand-new songs “your place” and “enough to leave” available everywhere now.

The album features all 16 original tracks from 'Speak Now,' including 'Mine (Taylor's Version),' 'Enchanted (Taylor's Version),' and also features Hayley Williams of Paramore on 'Castles Crumbling' and Fallout Boy on 'Electric Touch.'

54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Alyssa Wray, Dillon Knight Drozdz, Henry Platt, Juliana Chimenti, Kendall Morgan, Santana Ortiz, Taylor Lloyd, and surprise guests in 54 Below Celebrates 2000s Musicals on Wednesday, July 26th at 9:30pm.

AT THIS PERFORMANCE…  returns to The Green Room 42 featuring standbys, understudies and alternates from  Shucked, Six The Musical, Once Upon A One More Time, The Book Of Mormon, Camelot, Parade; Aladdin, A Doll's House, and Flying Over Sunset.

Join other Young Professionals (ages 21-35) on Thursday, August 3rd for a performance of BANDSTAND; music by Richard Oberacker, with a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker. Pre-show wine and cheese reception begins at 6pm, and the show will be at 7:30pm. The reception includes complimentary wine and cheese. Tickets are $25, all seats reserved.

Rainee Blake is an Australian-born singer-songwriter, actress and writer based in Los Angeles, perhaps best known for her role as Alannah on CMT’s popular show Nashville. But during this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival, Rainee brought her one-woman show Take Me As I Am, which offers audiences an intimate club experience in which she performs memorable songs and shares the stories which inspired them as folk singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell, while playing both guitar and dulcimer. I decided to speak with her about the show’s development, her reaction to its award-winning reception at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival, where she has performed the show before, and what future plans she has to take it on the road.

BROADWAY BARKS has revealed the full roster of participants for the 25th annual dog and cat adoption event. 

Six has just partnered with Bond 45 to create the Queens Corner, a special dining area inspired by the musical, featuring purple upholstery and a brass plaque to celebrate SIX on Broadway. Bond 45 will also be adding a SIX-inspired purple cocktail, The Queens’ Cup, to the menu.
