Towne Street Theatre (TST) celebrates African-American History Month with two compelling staged readings during February 2020. Dara Harper's Shades of War is the remarkable true story of Haitian immigrant, Samuel Fraunces, and his daughter, Phoebe Fraunces. Together, they foiled an assassination plot against George Washington in 1776. The play explores slavery, race, sexism and colorism with lessons that are still relevant today, and it features special guest performer, Hawthorne James. The reading takes place on Sunday, February 16th at 4pm.
Goodwill Cultural Ambassador Ronald Rand, recently returned from performing at Nairobi's National Theatre in The Kenya International Theater Festival, will celebrate his 20th year of touring, performing his celebrated solo play, LET IT BE ART! in a special performance presented by Tennessee Valley Art Association (TVAA) at The Ritz Theatre's Ritz Studio in Sheffield, Alabama on February 29th.

Announcing the release of The Awful Kind, an award-winning, Female-Driven One Take Western short film.
