HBO has acquired all U.S. broadcast and home video rights to MOMS MABLEY: I GOT SOMETHIN' TO TELL YOU, from first-time director Whoopi Goldberg, it was announced today by Sheila Nevins, president, HBO Documentary Films.

The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today that STEEL MAGNOLIAS has been added to the classic movie lineup of screenings for the special one-night-only event, Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies. 2012 AFI Life Achievement Award recipient and Oscar-winning actress Shirley MacLaine and Oscar-winning actress Sally Field will reunite to co-present the film, which will screen along with 12 other films, on Wednesday April 24 at the ArcLight Hollywood. Adding to this unique night, audience members will join Field and AFI to celebrate MacLaine with a birthday song prior to the screening. Tickets for STEEL MAGNOLIAS go on sale today at 10:00 a.m. (PT).

The Country Playhouse will present Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare, on our Cerwinske Stage for three weekends only, May 10 - 25. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with a Sunday matinee on May 19 at 2:00 p.m., plus a weeknight show on Thursday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the presenter line up for the upcoming 40th Chaplin Award honoring Academy Award-winner Barbra Streisand, on the evening of April 22nd at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. The celebration in honor of the international film legend's groundbreaking career will feature musical performances and film and interview clips culminating in the presentation of The Chaplin Award by President Bill Clinton.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will present a special Midnight screening at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 West 65th Street) of Stanley Kubrick's horror classic THE SHINING on Friday, March 29 following the opening of Rodney Ascher's documentary ROOM 237. ROOM 237 explores the opinions and commentary of cinephiles and dedicated fans of the Kubrick's masterpiece who each believe they have found clues embedded within the film that tell a story just as compelling as the film itself. Ascher and producer Tim Kirk will attend and participate in post-screening Q&As following the 6:30PM show on Friday, March 29 and the 1:30PM and 6:30PM shows on Saturday, March 30.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center presents the film series Foxy, The Complete Pam Grier (today, March 15-17). Screening at the Walter Reade Theater (165 West 65th Street) and the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 West 65th Street), and highlighted by the attendance of Grier at several screenings, the film series includes such fan favorites and notable classics as THE BIG BIRD CAGE (1972), COFFY (1973), ESCAPE FROM LA (1996), FOXY BROWN (1974), and GREASED LIGHTNING (1977), as well as JACKIE BROWN (1997) featuring her Golden Globe and SAG Award nominated performance in the title role.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Old Ghosts, New Dreams: The Emerging Cambodian Cinema (April 19-25). To be presented in conjunction with the citywide Season of Cambodia arts festival, FSLC will team with the great documentarian Rithy Panh to screen a fascinating survey of films from Cambodia.

Four renowned achievers will be honored for their lifetime accomplishments with the 34th Annual Common Wealth Awards of Distinguished Service. The awards recognize individuals who have enriched modern society in a range of human endeavors. The 2013 Common Wealth Award winners are: Alan Alda, celebrated actor, director and screenwriter, for Dramatic Arts; David McCullough, preeminent author and historian, for Literature; Jane Pauley, leading broadcast journalist, Today Show contributor and author, for Mass Communications; Martin Sheen, film legend, social activist and humanitarian, for Public Service.

Arden Theatre Company, now celebrating its 25th Season of great stories by great storytellers, presents A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry. Directed by Walter Dallas, A Raisin in the Sun will run tonight, March 7-April 21 on the Arden's F. Otto Haas Stage.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center today announced the departure of Robert Koehler, and the appointment of critic and programmer Dennis Lim as Director of Cinematheque Programming. Koehler will step down immediately and return to Los Angeles to focus on personal matters and requests that his family's privacy be respected.

Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center celebrates Black History Month with two concurrent free events highlighting some of the cultural contributions African Americans have made to our society: A Tribute to African American Authors, in which renowned actors and singers perform selected works; and a reception for the new exhibit Ain't Just Paint: Works from the CCH Pounder Collection. A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry's drama, will extend its performance schedule through March 9th at Palm Beach Dramaworks' Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). The production will play the following additional performances: Thursday 3/7 at 8pm, Friday 3/8 at 8pm and Saturday 3/9 at 2 & 8pm.
