Following a successful UK, Ireland and International tour from 2021 - 2023 the Award-winning Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical, featuring Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf's greatest hits, will return to tour the UK in 2025.

Produced by Klutzy Dragon and Paper Starship Studios, Expatriated is a poignant new play written and performed by Dominique Roberts and Candace Leung that explores contrasting experiences of migration, centered around the stories of an LA lawyer who finds herself in the vibrant city of Hong Kong, while on the other side of the world a Hong Kong lawyer faces the crushing reality of starting a new life in Los Angeles. I decided to speak with them about the decision to create the play, how it reflects their own experiences, their experience presenting it before and at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and what plans they have for its future.

Dear Readers, I should start by saying that “Spring Awakening”, the musical from Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind, has never been one of my favorites. But that first national tour and especially the 2012 local production from Balagan Theatre gave me a better appreciation for the show for what it is. However, the current production from the 5th Avenue Theatre did not.

Expatriated is a poignant new play written and performed by Dominique Roberts and Candace Leung that explores contrasting experiences of migration.

Each year, a number of UK citizens are selected for special distinctions in honour of the birthday of the reigning monarch. This year, a number of familiar faces from the arts world have made the list.

Breakout artist Sarah Kinsley confirms her debut full-length album, Escaper, is due September 6 on Verve Forecast. Next week, on June 20, Kinsley will unveil a first taste of the new music with “Last Time We Never Meet Again.” Across the album’s 12 tracks, Kinsley explores old friendships, loss, romantic love compared to the love of close friends, and relationships fizzling that once flourished.
