The winners of the Black British Theatre Awards 2022 have been announced. The awards' ceremony was held the National Theatre on October 16. 

Manchester Hope Mill Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of The Wiz is to be streamed. The musical had to cancel 15 sold-out performances over Christmas due to Covid. The rights holders have now generously agreed to it being filmed and streamed for a strictly limited number of performances to UK-only audiences, and limited to the number of physical seats at the venue.

With previews underway and press night on Sunday, stunning images by Pamela Raith have been released from a radical new Black British version of the 70s musical The Wiz: The Super Soul Musical Wonderful Wizard of Oz at Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.

An all new video has been released of Cherelle Williams, as Dorothy, singing 'Soon As I Get Home' from the Black British retelling of  ‘The Wiz’, which plays at Hope Mill Theatre this Christmas.

The Black British Theatre Awards (BBTAs), the UK's first award show to celebrate the excellence and influence of Black performers and creatives in the theatre industry, have announced the 2021 nominees.

As previously announced, this Christmas Hope Mill Theatre will stage the first new UK production of The Wiz, in 10 years, running from Wednesday 24th November 2021 to Sunday 16th January 2022.

Hope Mill Theatre has announced that this Christmas it will stage the first new UK production of The Wiz: The Super Soul Musical “Wonderful Wizard of Oz” in 10 years. With music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls, book by William F. Brown and original orchestrations by Harold Wheeler, The Wiz is a retelling of L. Frank Baum's classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

The Barn Theatre today released the debut recording of the song “Only A Moment” by composer, lyricist and performer Matthew Harvey, featuring West End stars including Courtney Stapleton, Tyrone Huntley, Alexia Khadime & Emma Kingston.

The Black British Theatre Awards 2020 championed the artistic excellence and achievements of the black creatives and performers across all aspects of theatre. The program's first television broadcast on Sky Arts highlighted a cross section of some of the 2020 award-winners.

Theatrical superstars Sharon D. Black voices from across the West End, Broadway, activism, community leadership and beyond will unite to raise funds and awareness for four charities a?" The Bail Project, The Okra Project, The Black Curriculum and UK Black Pride a?" in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. 

A Work of Heart Productions (AWOHP) hosts an online musical theatre master class March 30th through April 3rd to culminate in a digital showcase.

Producer Jeffrey Seller has announced that JAMAEL WESTMAN and NICHOLAS CHRISTOPHER will lead the Los Angeles engagement of HAMILTON as Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, respectively.

Luminario Ballet of Los Angeles is a very unique and valuable, strong and powerful Dance Company. They offered up two fantastic evenings of Dance, Song, Music and a Q&A, last weekend at Club Fais Do Do, and this past weekend at the Skirball Center, in conjunction with a Fashion Exhibit of Rudy Gernreich's '60s fashions that tied in perfectly with the 2nd dance piece presented that evening. The costumes used in 'Inscape,' were originally created by Rudi Gernreich at the same time the piece was set, in 1976. 'Choose Your Identity' June 16, 2019 The evening began with singer Tawny Ellis and her band, performing several selections from her new upcoming album release 'Love Life.' Dressed in a beautiful, flowing, lacy white dress, she looked like an angel and sang like one, playing her matching white Lap Steel and omni chord instruments with a passionate, down-to-earth country sound that was soothingly sultry, with lyrics that commanded your attention. She and her talented band played selections from her upcoming release; one of them being 'Pretend Love,' which was accompanied by a beautiful dance, choreographed by the Artistic Director, Judith FLEX Helle, performed by the incredible Kelly Vittetoe, an extraordinary soloist, en pointe, accompanied by David Tai Kim and Cory Goel. The strongest ballerina I have ever seen, (Ms. Vittetoe) that up-close; performing magnificently, with one of the most beautiful bodies, face and feet, ever. She is exquisite, and her two partners were also equally impressive. The exactness of technique performed by all three dancers was just heavenly. Up close and personal. What a treat!

The musical HAMILTON will conclude its more than three (3) year run in Chicago at Broadway In Chicago's CIBC Theatre (18 W. Monroe St.) on January 5, 2020, it has been announced by producer Jeffrey Seller. Chicago was the first city outside New York where HAMILTON opened; the production began performances on September 27, 2016 at what was then The PrivateBank Theatre.

The brand-new production of the much-loved glittering hit musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert the Musical will extend its UK tour dates through to 2020. The show, which was announced last year, and will star Strictly Come Dancing winner Joe McFadden, will tour the UK and Ireland from September 2019. It marks Donovan's first time as a producer, having performed in the cast of the original West End production and two subsequent UK tours. The producing team is completed by Gavin Kalin and Matthew Gale. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert the Musical will preview in Dartford from 5 September 2019.
