DRIVING MISS DAISY, ANYONE CAN WHISTLE and More Announced in Third Avenue Playhouse 2020 Season

The Third Avenue Playhouse, located in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay, announces its lineup of six plays for the upcoming 2020 season. The plays include an early career work from playwright David Mamet, a 1964 musical by the legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, a multi-award winning classic about the unlikely friendship between an elderly lady and her driver, the story of an unconventional advice columnist, and a farcical take on the making of Gone With The Wind.

FULL FRONTAL WITH SAMANTHA BEE Ups Mike Drucker and Kristen Bartlett to Co-Head Writers

Emmy Award-winning Full Frontal with Samantha Bee has promoted veteran writers Mike Drucker and Kristen Bartlett to co-head writers of television's #1 ad-supported late-night show among young adults. Premiering in 2016 as the only female-hosted late-night program, Full Frontal continues to bring a unique voice and worldview to primetime, shining a bright light on the darkness that is Decision 2020 with a new episode airing tonight at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on TBS. Season five of the late-night talker premiered last week following the unveiling of their new parental leave policy that's the best in late-night. The innovative plan offers staffers 20 weeks full pay for moms and primary caregivers, 4 weeks full pay for spouses/partners, health insurance and job protection for up to a year if they want to take more time off. Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is part of TBS' escapist, lean-back line-up of smart, imaginative programming that tells stories with heart and a comedic edge.

SCRUBS & COUGAR TOWN to Have Reunions at ATX Television Festival

ATX Television Festival has announced additional programming for year nine of the festival, which will take place June 4-7, 2020, in Austin, Texas.   ATX Season 9 will include reunions for two beloved comedies from creator/director/executive producer  Bill Lawrence: “Scrubs,” and “Cougar Town,” which was co-created by Kevin Biegel (“Enlisted”). Lawrence will join “Scrubs” cast members Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn and Christa Miller for a reunion panel celebrating 10 years since the series finale.

CMT Pledges 50/50 Video Airplay For Female Artists

Today, CMT announced that it will institute 50/50 video airplay for female artists on both CMT and CMT Music channels, effective immediately. The news was shared this morning by @CMT on Twitter. See the tweet below! Out of the full 29-hour primetime video hours across platforms, female are guaranteed to account for half, an increase from the 40/60 ratio.

TBS' FULL FRONTAL WITH SAMANTHA BEE Visits Hong Kong

Earlier this month, Samantha Bee and her team at Full Frontal travelled to the protest-filled region to explore two main questions: what the F@$% is going on there and what the H#%& is the solution? To answer these questions, Bee interviewed an array of locals from pro-democracy university students to pro-Trump MAGA-wearing protesters, VR developers, and a historian from the Tai O village through both formal interviews and on-the-street reporting. Usually, Full Frontal only contains one field piece per episode, but the subject of Hong Kong is so complex and fascinating that it will include a special double field piece.

RATINGS: THE TONIGHT SHOW's Sunday Original Tops The Late-Night Week

A special Sunday original telecast of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has topped the late-night talk-show week of Oct. 14-18 in adults 18-49 and total viewers, while Monday-through-Friday encore telecasts have led those nights in 18-49 over a mostly original week of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and rebroadcasts of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

Brett Weitz Named General Manager of TBS, TNT, and Now truTV

Kevin Reilly, President, TBS, TNT, and truTV, and Chief Content Officer, HBO Max today announced that Brett Weitz, general manager of TBS & TNT will now also take on oversight of truTV, reporting to him. Weitz will manage all three networks and oversee the creative executive teams and development for all three networks in New York and Los Angeles. Concurrently, Thom Hinkle has been upped to head of original content for all three networks.

Women's Media Awards Announces 2019 Honorees
