Rise and shine, BroadwayWorld! It is  September 30, 2024 and it's time to catch up on all of the theatrical happenings you may have missed over the weekend.

Olivier Award®-winning actor Andrew Scott will reprise his wildly acclaimed performance in Vanya, a radical new adaptation of Chekhov’s masterwork, Uncle Vanya, which Mr. Scott co-created with adaptor Simon Stephens, designer Rosanna Vize and director Sam Yates, in its American Premiere.

The New World Symphony (NWS), America’s Orchestral Academy, announced that actress Daisy Ridley will narrate the season-opening performance of From the Diary of Anne Frank, composed by NWS Co-Founder and Artistic Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas, and led by Artistic Director Stéphane Denève at New World Center.

On 19 September, audiences worldwide can stream the critically acclaimed productions People, Places & Things with Denise Gough (Angels in America), and VANYA with Andrew Scott (All of us Strangers, Fleabag) on National Theatre at Home.

The National Theatre will release two new National Theatre Live productions to audiences in cinemas across the UK and Ireland this winter. Following sold-out runs, Dear England and VANYA will be new to NT Live, alongside the re-release of Olivier-award winning production, Skylight. 

The critically acclaimed sell-out run of Chekhov’s VANYA with Andrew Scott, adapted by Simon Stephens, directed by Sam Yates and designed by Rosanna Vize, will add two additional performances to the run at the Duke of York’s Theatre due to public demand. Find out how to get tickets here!
