Reservoir announces the signing of Grammy-nominated writer-producer Sam Sumser to a worldwide publishing deal. The deal includes rights to Sumser's catalog of works including lead single “Juice” and “Lingerie” off 2020 Best New Artist nominee Lizzo's Grammy-nominated Album of the Year Cuz I Love You (Deluxe), plus “Banana” featuring Becky G, off Anitta's 2019 Latin Grammy-nominated album, Kisses.

PRIMARY STAGES (Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Shane D. Hudson, Executive Director; Casey Childs, Founder) announced today additional programming for the month-long festival of solo performances, readings, and special events, featuring members of the Primary Stages family.

The Ivoryton Playhouse's current production of Kander and Ebb's 'Cabaret' does justice to the musical in its own unique way. It is by no means a slavish replica of Sam Mendes's 1998 revision that stressed the decadence to a significantly risqué degree. Nor does it reflect the more conventionality of the 1968 original that still managed to shock audiences with its more subtle but piquant references to the rise of the Nazi party in 1930's Berlin and a huge on-stage mirror that placed the audience as observers and participants in the fall of the German culture.

Stephen Schwartz, also from Carnegie Mellon, was hired to write a new score, adding original songs to the modernized hymns.

R & R Productions will present a public reading of Dick Whittington Cums to Hell's Kitchen, a new play written in the style of British Pantomime by award winning playwright Robert K. Benson on Sunday December 16th at 8pm in The Green Room at New World Stages.

Theater Resources Unlimited will establish a new TRU scholarship fund at its annual TRU Love Benefit this November 4th at Caroline's on Broadway. Honorees at the benefit this year will be Baayork Lee and the National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) receiving the TRU Spirit of Theater Award, and John Chatterton and the Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) receiving the TRU Entrepreneur Award. The scholarship fund will be open to any candidates demonstrating financial need, and will include annual worthy candidates submitted by both NAAP and MITF.

A CHORUS LINE, the hit musical about dancers auditioning for a Broadway show played for 6,137 performances in its original run and, depending on who you ask, there are numerous reasons for that. Last night, May 28, 2018, Theatre Now New York presented its Fifth Annual Festival of 10-Minute Musicals, SOUND BITES 5.0, on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center, to a sold-out house for the second year in a row. This annual, one-night only event showcases ten new musicals of up-and-coming musical theatre writing teams.
