Fuel, in association with Southbank Centre, have announced that its celebrated production, directed by Toby Olié, of Ross Collins' family favourite There's a Bear on My Chair will return to the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre this Christmas.
By the mid-1920s the Marx Brothers (Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo) were already well known on the vaudeville circuit. Broadway gave their mayhem a larger canvas. Producer Sam Harris commissioned a musical comedy built around them, pairing their improvisational chaos with the polish of Berlin’s songs and Kaufman’s sharp theatrical wit.
THE FRONT PAGE, although it is a crazy and ridiculous scenario, still resonates with audiences today. Fountain Hill Theater’s portrayal of the show is a great take on a classic show.
