Tickets for the National Theatre's 2019-2020 Broadway at the National season opener MIKE BIRBIGLIA'S THE NEW ONE (September 24-29, 2019), as well as JIMMY BUFFETT'S ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE (October 8-13, 2019) and the RENT 20TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR (November 12-17, 2019) will go on sale to the general public this Friday, July 19 at 10am.

Kids' Night on Broadway returns on Wednesday, September 11, as part of "Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" at Hershey Theatre. 

BroadwayWorld has learned Tony nominee Beth Malone will return to The Muny as Miss Trunchbull in Roald Dahl's Matilda, August 5 - 11. Malone played the title role in The Muny's 2017 production of The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Roald Dahl's Matilda is proudly sponsored by Emerson.   

Rounding out Diamond Head Theatre's 104th season is the always anticipated, larger scale summer production, and this year, is it Matilda, based on the Roald Dahl's beloved children's story. What is destined to become a local crowd-pleaser, the show primarily boasts a fantastic cast but slightly falters in other minor aspects of its ambitious production.

This year, for the very first time, 43 Helpmann Awards are being presented across two nights and two events in Melbourne, at the Victorian home of the performing arts, Arts Centre Melbourne.

The Muny announced today the appointment of Tali Allen as Director of Education. A newly-created position, Allen will work with current staff to coordinate, evaluate and expand existing education programs while developing and implementing new programs within The Crawford Taylor Education Initiative.

Peter and the Starcatcher and Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical will be presented in repertory style fromJuly 12th through August 4th.  Both productions will star the talented young actors who are participating in the company's Summer Repertory Theatre program. 

Curve announces the title of its 2019 Christmas show for children and their families, a brand-new production based on the number one best-selling picture book by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees, Giraffes Can't Dance. The show will be produced in association with Hachette Children's Group and Coolabi Group and will run in the Curve's 300-seat studio from 9 to 31 Dec this year.

Riverside Theatre for Kids presents Roald Dahl's classic children's story, Matilda, The Musical, live on stage July 19 and 20, 2019.

The inaugural season of Olney Theatre's Center's Applause Concert Series comes to a close Friday, July 26 at 8:00pm with a one-night-only performance of Children of Eden, a lesser-known work by Stephen Schwartz, the creator of such hits as Wicked, Pippin and Godspell. The concert, featuring a full cast of DC luminaries and a large on-stage orchestra is directed by Kevin McAllister who pulls double duty, also acting and singing the role of The Father. Christopher Youstra, Olney Theatre's Associate Artistic DirectorDirector of Music Theatre and the series curator serves as music director and conductor.
