Theaters in the New Orleans area have shifted to virtual, or otherwise adapted, performances amidst the health crisis.

All performances at Rivertown Theaters are cancelled until further notice and will be re-scheduled for later dates.

Back by popular demand each year, Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts will bring back the locally written, performed locally '...And The Ball and All' with a cast like audiences have never seen before '...And The Ball and All' for just one weekend February 13 - 16 on the Main Stage.

Get out your '70s duds and get into the musical magic of Mamma Mia! at Rivertown Theaters this July featuring two dozen hits from the '70s pop sensation ABBA. It's the most wonderfully entertaining summer escape that audiences have raved about since it first opened in London and then on Broadway, opening Fall of 2001.

Opera isn't my go-to art form, I'll admit it.  In fact, I don't know many people who truly appreciate opera music nor do they understand what it actually takes to become a successful opera singer.  It's an art that often goes unnoticed because of the stereotypes that it is long, boring, difficult to understand, unrelatable, and only for old, rich people.  But if music is a universal language, and I truly believe this to be true, then why do we insist that we cannot understand and then listen to all forms of music except for this one?  I recently had the honor of speaking with two artists who are radically trying to change the scene, and make opera music accessible to everyone.

Rivertown Theaters presents "Growing Up - New Orleans Style" from Ricky Graham & Company. Ricky Graham takes the audience on a nostalgic journey of growing up in New Orleans. From shopping at Krauss's and Maison Blanche to riding the Big Zephyr at Pontchartrain Beach, this is a show for all Yats and the Yats At Hawt. Along for the ride are music director, Jefferson Turner, Brian Albus on percussion, and the ever-popular Su Gonczy on lights and harmonies! Six performances only.

Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts has planned a captivating lineup of productions for the 2018-2019 season beginning Sept. 14 with The Music Man, a, deliciously delightful, theatrical slice of apple pie that pays tribute to the early twentieth century old-fashioned manners and mores of small-town Americana opening.

Hell in a Handbag Productions is pleased to kick off its 2018 Season with a revival of its 2013 hit L'IMITATION OF LIFE, a dead on parody of the 1959 film Imitation of Life about race, mothers and daughters - and looking fabulous! Adapted by Ricky Graham and Running with Scissors and directed by ensemble member Stevie Love*, L'IMITATION OF LIFE will play March 31 - May 6, 2018 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago.
