The Queens Theatre may cause a stir when it premieres Relic, or, I Was Bubbie's Favorite by Joel Feinman (as told to Lojo Simon), an outrageous new comedy by playwright Lojo Simon and directed by Will Pomerantz, that explores the cult of celebrity, religion and idolatry in modern times. The play, set in the Queens neighborhood of Rego Park, revolves around an out-of-work actor who finds what purports to be the world's greatest relic in his grandmother's attic, offering him the fame and fortune he always sought. He discovers, however, that it may not be all he wants! Performances will be held Friday, May 10th through Sunday, May 19th (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays).

Heartland, now playing at Luna Stage, will extend through May 5. The new play, which opened April 4, has received audience and critical acclaim. Broadway World called it a "heartfelt masterpiece rife with comedic brilliance and the triumph of the human spirit."

The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical has partnered with Cabot Circus to offer visitors a rare opportunity to sit in Miss Trunchbull's chair, if they dare.

RIOULT Dance NY in partnership with La Guardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC) presents Artistic Director Pascal Rioult's  Fables, a family-friendly production of the Queens Borough Community Dance Project. Entering its second year, this initiative affords the rare opportunity for children who either live or go to school in Queens, to rehearse and perform alongside the professional dancers of RIOULT Dance NY.

Calpulli Mexican Dance Company (Calpulli) will premiere'Puebla: The Story of Cinco de Mayo' (Puebla) at Queens Theatre on April 13 - 14, followed by a national tour with performances in Texas, Georgia and New Jersey. The Queens-based Company, now in its 16th year, received a national award from the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) making the new production possible. Under the artistic direction of Alberto Lopez Herrera, 'Puebla' tells a universal tale of the underdog fighting impossible odds. The setting is the Battle of Puebla when a small army of Mexican soldiers and commoners defeated the French army, the strongest military force of the time, on the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), 1862. Through folkloric and contemporary dance, live music and elaborate costuming, the Company will elaborate on the history of the now-famous date and celebrate the culture and people of Puebla. Luna Stage will present Gabriel Jason Dean's Heartland from April 4-28. The intercontinental love story directed by Ari Laura Kreith will be the fourth production of Luna's 2018-2019 Season.
