Electric Island​ is a new musical conceived and written by Rachelle Rak with music and additional lyrics by Steven Jamail. This developmental project tells the real stories of women working on Broadway: those working hard to go from show to show and aren’t the recognized stars above the marquee. Shining light on women of all ages, ethnicities, and sexual orientations, ​Electric Island illuminates how these performers have navigated the highs and lows of a life in the theater--on stage and off.

Despite pandemic-induced challenges to traditional fundraising efforts, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS this week provided a record $2,452,500 in grants to 131 food service and meal delivery programs in 37 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, DC.  

Tony Award nominees Lilli Cooper and Denée Benton star alongside Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Grace McLean and James Scully in a virtual concert of the new musical Haley at Therapy. The reading is set for 8 pm Eastern on Monday, February 8, 2021, and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Theatre fans still have a chance to catch the powerhouse performances delivered by two-time Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale and Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei in the virtual reading of Jon Robin Baitz’s Three Hotels, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Broadway Across America gave purchasers the option to donate the value of their unused tickets to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The John Gore Organization this week added to their customers' goodwill, bringing the total donation to Broadway Cares to an astounding $1 million.

Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV), the Tony Award-winning choir founded and directed by Michael McElroy, is thrilled to announce its 2020 holiday concert, “A Season of Hope & Inspiration,” will stream for free to a global audience on Sunday, Dec. 13 starting at 7pm (ET). The concert will feature an incredible lineup of special guests, including the Broadway luminaries Patti LuPone, Billy Porter, Leslie Odom Jr., Crystal Monee Hall, Daniel J. Watts, and Shoshana Bean. Broadway luminaries Marty Thomas (Wicked, Xanadu, The Secret Garden) and Marissa Rosen (Kristin Chenoweth: For The Girls), have just announced the release of their upcoming debut duet album 'The Award Winning Holiday Album'. The album is set to release on December 5th, 2020.

Thanks to the generosity of the theatrical community and dedicated supporters, Broadway Cares has announced a record $18.1 million was provided in grants in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2020.

The digital day of auctions, meet-and-greets and theatrical treasure hunting raised a spectacular $316,282 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
