Manhattan Theatre Club’s Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive was filmed last week by the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive of New York Public Library. The production is now in its final week of performances and will end its extended run on Sunday, June 12 at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. L. Doctorow’s best-selling novel of the same name. Ragtime will be presented June 1-26, 2022 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. KNOW Theatre to Stage Production of HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE

KNOW Theatre in Binghamton, N.Y., will conclude its 2021-22 season with a production of Paula Vogel's 'How I Learned to Drive' from June 10-26. The wildly funny, surprising and devastating tale of survival follows the troubling relationship between a teen called Li'l Bit (Anna Simek) and her Uncle Peck (Joe Hoffmann). As Li'l Bit learns the rules of the road, she also finds out about life's complications and heartbreaks. Costarring as the 'Greek chorus' portraying all other characters are Vito Longo, Kirsten Whistle and Lori Gordon Wilmont. Directing the production is Samantha Rose.
