Provincetown CabaretFest 2018 (May 31 to June 3) will feature over thirty vocalists, musicians and comedians, appearing in the Paramount Room of The Crown and Anchor, during its Friday night show 'Music, Music, Music'. The Friday evening show is the largest variety show every produced in the festival's eighteen-year history. The entertainers hail from all over the U.S. and will perform in a variety of shows, in one of the most extensive cabaret festivals in Massachusetts. All festival events share theme of sophisticated and soulful 1950s music and will showcase the unique art form of live cabaret.
Provincetown CabaretFest 2018 will proudly honor Carol O'Shaughnessy for her many years in the world of cabaret with special recognition of her contributions to the New England cabaret scene. Her career as a performer spans nearly forty-five years, with thirty of those years spent as a cabaret performer.
The soulful songs and glamorous nightlife of the 1950s will swing once more when CabaretFest returns to Provincetown May 31 to June 3. Twenty-eight cabaret entertainers from Boston, New York City, Florida and Palm Springs, will participate in ten live shows, a Q&A luncheon panel session, two performance workshops, two Marilyn Maye Master Classes, and enjoy parties and networking along with VIP pass holders. The VIP pass includes entry to all the live shows, opportunities to monitor workshops and invitations to private parties. Festival Producer Patricia Fitzpatrick sums it up like this: 'Where else can you walk a few yards, see and hear so many of the nation's top cabaret performers in one place? Only in Provincetown. Provincetown is like Broadway with sand.'
