Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) is thrilled to welcome Tectonic Theater Project to conduct the 2020 Teachers Institute at the 71st Annual SETC Convention.

The Fountain Theatre is gearing up to present the world premiere of a new play written and directed by company co-artistic director Stephen Sachs (Arrival & Departure, Citizen: An American Lyric, Cyrano). Casting is now complete for Human Interest Story, a timely drama about homelessness, celebrity worship and the assault on American journalism, with the opening date set for Feb. 15, 2020.

A fan of the romantic but put-upon-by-tradition women in Jane Austen novels and the witty men created by Oscar Wilde, Kathryn Farren has successfully woven those elements together in Victorian-era England with a modern perspective on female equality, the importance of family, standing in one's own truth, and the power of love to overcome fear and hatred in her World Premiere play EMBRIDGE at Little Fish Theatre in San Pedro.

Justin Sayre returns to Joe's Pub with another edition of their long-running Queer Variety Show, The Meeting. Sayre is celebrating 10 years since the formation of The Meeting in 2009, the show went on to become the longest running LGBTQ variety show in New York. Sayre will offer stories and songs with a host of downtown royalty, from Angela DiCarlo, Nadia Quinn, Amber Martin, and Phillip Taratula as Pam Goldberg on Friday night, December 6th. And Nathan Lee Graham, Natalie Joy Johnson, Dane Terry, Zachary Clause and Shane O'Neill as Jane Johnson. Tracy Stark will be Musical Director.

David Suchet will be making his eagerly-awaited return to Australian stages in POIROT AND MORE: A RETROSPECTIVE in early 2020. There has been a huge demand for tickets across Australia and subsequently new shows have just been added to the tour schedule. The tour will travel across the country to Perth, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle and Adelaide. The additional performances in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide will go on sale on Tuesday 19thNovember.

Justin Audibert directs Anthony Weigh's new version of Oscar Wilde's comic novella, The Canterville Ghost - in a riotously spooky production for all the family, using magic and spectacular illusion to bring this classic and much-loved ghost story to life.  

Pan Productions will welcome in the new year with Wilde's quintessentially English masterpiece The Importance of Being Earnest at the Tower Theatre. Their first play in English, it is created with a team of immigrant actors and creatives, who, like the characters in the play, are constantly asked where they are from, when all they want to explain is who they are.

Highways Performance Space & Gallery presents Film Maudit 2.0, its inaugural film festival dedicated to outré films, inspired by the legendary artist Jean Cocteau's 1949 Festival Du Film Maudit, which celebrated a group of films that were criminally overlooked and neglected at the time. Roundabout Theatre Company will present a one-night only Benefit Reading of Oscar Wilde's beloved comedy The Importance of Being Earnest starring the legendary 5-time Tony winner Angela Lansbury as 'Lady Bracknell.' Additional casting has been announced including Rebecca Night as 'Cecily Cardew,' Daniel Davis as 'Lane,' John Glover as 'Reverend 2 Canon Chasuble,' Tony winner Jayne Houdyshell as 'Miss Prism,' Simon Jones as 'Merriman,' Hamish Linklater as 'John Worthing,' Lily Rabe as 'Gwendolen Fairfax' and Tom Rhoads as 'Algernon Moncrieff.'

Quantum Dragon Theatre, the San Francisco Bay Area's premiere science-fiction/fantasy theatre company, continues its ambitious third season with the west coast premiere of Shualee Cook's science-fiction comedy-of-manners An Invitation Out. This production, directed by Kieran Beccia, will open at the Potrero Stage-located at 1695 18th St, San Francisco-on Saturday, December 14 at 8 PM.

Pride Films and Plays' Jeff-recommended production of  A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE, the Chicago area's first revival in over a decade of the heartwarming musical created by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, and Terrence McNally, has been extended for one additional week due to popular and critical demand. The musical will now close with the 2:30 pm matinee on Sunday, November 17.

Pride Films and Plays will stage the first Chicago production in more than a decade of A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE, the heartwarming musical created by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, and Terrence McNally, the team that wrote RAGTIME and ANASTASIA. A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE is based on a 1994 film starring Albert Finney and features a gorgeous Irish-influenced score.

The Selfish Giant is a classic tale, by Oscar Wilde, about a giant who builds a wall around his garden to keep out the town's children but, in doing so, plunges his garden into an endless winter. The show's creators, Jose Ignacio Vivero and Susannah Dalton, instill a sense of urgency in the story by placing the storytellers themselves at a border wall. Traveling, depression-era hucksters, transform their wares to tell a much-needed story to the audience they find waiting to cross.
