The Flea Theater Mounts Encore of THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES, Now thru 7/1

The Flea Theater presents an encore production of THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES, a 5-hour marathon of all seven of Sophocles' plays re-envisioned by playwright Sean Graney. Directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (a 2012 Drama Desk Award nominee for Outstanding Director -- in his professional directing debut in NYC), the production stars 38 members of The Bats. Performances run today, June 6 - July 1 at The Flea (41 White Street between Church and Broadway in Tribeca).

The Brick Theater, Inc. presents No Second Acts: A Collection of Short American Lives, appearing as part of DEMOCRACY and featuring new short plays by Gyda Arber, James Comtois, Jeff Lewonczyk, Justin Maxwell, August Schulenberg, Trav S.D., Crystal Skillman, Alexis Sottile, Stephanie Swirsky and Art Wallace, June 1-3, 2012.

THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES Returns to the Flea, 6/6

Due to popular demand, The Flea Theater will bring back THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES this summer. This theatrical adaptation of Sophocles' seven surviving plays (Oedipus, In Trachis, Philoktetes, In Colonus, Ajax, Elektra and Antigone) will return for a limited engagement June 6 through July 1.

The Flea Presents 3 Premieres in New Play Festival, Beginning Tonight

The Flea will present the World Premiere of three new plays with its NEW PLAY FESTIVAL: The Electric Lighthouse by Ed Hime, The Wundelsteipen (And Other Difficult Roles for Young People) by Nick Jones and A Letter from Omdurman by Jeffrey M. Jones. The Festival's cast will be comprised of The Bats, the resident acting company of The Flea. Previews begin April 20th at The Flea Theater.

Artists Repertory Theatre Opens RACE

In Race, two lawyers (one black, one white) take on a case that gets under their skin and exposes a minefield of deep divisions, resentments and bigotry. Mamet's 'rapid-fire dialogue, gripping plot and blunt language, thoroughly stripped of polite social convention and rife with provocative humor, is a searing portrait of American discrimination.' Playwright David Mamet is a Pulitzer Prize-winning and Academy Award-nominated writer. Nationally respected Director Tamara Fisch will make her Artists Rep debut with this production.

Manhattan Theatre Company's 7@7 Reading Series Lineup Announced

Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer; Mandy Greenfield, Artistic Producer) today announced the lineup for this spring's Ernst C.
