Instrument makers from around New England will be front and center at this year's Lowell Folk Festival celebrating the art & craft that goes into making the unique sounds that come from the Festival's world class musical performers.  Known for its eclectic blend of music, food and art, the 35th Anniversary of the Lowell Folk Festival returns in person July 29-31. 

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, will present a workshop production of an original two-man folk musical parody as part of its 2022 OTR New Works Series.

Ars Nova has announced the lineup for its 14th Annual ANT Fest featuring 15 shows, 13 of which will premiere in-person and online at Ars Nova Supra with the first two shows premiering exclusively online.

Shooter! introduces us to Professor Leia, who is befuddled by the task of ushering undergrads into the dramatic principles of playwriting and life lessons simultaneously. When a student brings in a violent play, she suspects him of being a possible school shooter. As Leia's home life becomes more dangerous, she doubles down on her fear of the potential shooter. A dark comedy about the danger of the dislocation of fear—both to the object of that fear and its agent. 

“’Never Coming Back’ is a song about coming to terms with the realities of your dreams,” the band shared about the single. “And the act of rebelling against the things you want, just as you get them.” 

Florida Studio Theatre has announced the cast for Three Pianos, an all-new celebration of musicians who took the piano to new heights. When FST was forced to close its doors to the public last March, its artistic team went to work, creating a catalogue of Cabarets for future production.

Florida Studio Theatre is returning to live performance with Vintage POP!, da brand new musical revue exploring the evolution of popular music from the 1920s to the 1980s. Created by Carole J. Bufford, Vintage POP! is FST’s first live theatrical production since it was forced to shut down in mid-March of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

'Jollyship the Whiz-Bang' is a hilarious pirate-puppet-rock musical about a drunken captain, a treacherous sea, and a potential mutiny while in search of Party Island. Created by Nick Jones (writer and co-producer for the Netflix hit 'Orange Is the New Black,') the show ran in New York for eight consecutive years. Callie Burk-Hartz saw the show six times while she was still a NYC resident and is so excited to be remounting the production in the Midwest with her own spin, including casting three women in a show written for an all-male cast. This production is an extended version of the hit IndyFringe Festival 2018 show.

We will be presenting two staged readings from past and president Resident Playwrights, as well as a LAB Workshop production, and our first commissioned play, which is being written by our first Resident Playwright, Adam Szymkowicz. All performances will take place at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center.
