Andréa Burns (IN THE HEIGHTS, ON YOUR FEET, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE FULL MONTY) and Maulik Pancholy (IT’S ONLY A PLAY, “30 Rock,” “Weeds”) will headline New Jersey's George Street Playhouse 2021 season, starring in two hilarious full-length comedies audiences can stream at home.

Teacher, writer, and LGBTQ rights advocate Chasten Buttigieg will participate in the virtual Educational Theatre Foundation gala in support of theatre education. The event will be streamed on January 28 at 8:30 p.m. (EST).

Actress, comedian, writer, producer, and playwright Tina Fey, and actor, singer, and improv comedian Wayne Brady, will show their support for school theatre by participating in the live streamed Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF) gala.

The Educational Theatre Foundation will honor award-winning director, producer, and actor Kenny Leon with its second annual Craig Zadan Theatre for Life Award on January 28 at 8:30 p.m. (EST).

The evening featured appearances from Broadway luminaries including Medal of Honor recipients Tony Award-winning actor Matthew Broderick and Emmy Award-winning actor and producer Sarah Jessica Parker. The honor was presented to the couple by three-time Tony Award-winning actor Nathan Lane.

As a result of the Covid-19 crisis, CTC has made the necessary decision to cancel the entirety of its 2020 summer season which had originally been slated to run between June and August. The company, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, cancelled its first three shows previously. Now it is announcing that its fourth and final show, which was to be Tiny Beautiful Things by Nia Vardalos, will not be performed on the stage of the Town Hall Theatre. Citing concerns about the ability to ensure the safety of all involved--audiences, artists, staff, interns, and Chester residents--Producing Artistic Director Daniel Elihu Kramer says there are no plans for live, in-person performances this summer.
