Saint Louis’ Union Avenue Opera is celebrating the start of it’s thirtieth year with a superb production of Bizet’s Carmen!  (Thirty years—that’s twenty-nine seasons.  Like everyone else Union Avenue was “dark” in 2020.)  Thirty years of ever-increasing excellence in this most challenging of musical arts.  Housed in the nave of the Union Avenue Christian Church, this company offers the most intimate opera experience you’re likely to find anywhere. 

CenterStage Theatre Works will present ALICE BY HEART, an imaginative musical by the creators of SPRING AWAKENING, at Fairview Town Center this August.

This week, she’s celebrating her new Burt Bacharach album with a special album release party on July 9th. The album, titled Promises, Prayers, and Raindrops: Allyson Briggs Sings Burt Bacharach, will be released on July 12th.

Never-before-heard alternate takes for the songs on Judy Garland’s well-loved 1956 Capitol album entitled “Judy' are set to be released. These recordings were recently discovered by award-winning designer and collector Raphael Geroni on a unique set of acetate discs that he owns, preserving the original recordings made in late March, 1956.
