The newly renovated Plains School, a collaboration between Pontine Theatre and the City of Portsmouth, is fully accessible with convenient free parking adjacent.

Bay Area Cabaret welcomes back world-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli and singer Jessica Molaskey, a duo Time Magazine calls the "Astaire-Rodgers of the cabaret world." Bay Area Cabaret audiences will have the chance to see, or choose between, two varied programs:  The first, at 3:30 is a centennial tribute to Nat King Cole, a Venetian Room regular, whose work is celebrated on Mr. Pizzarelli's upcoming CD, Centenially Yours. The second show, American Stories, at 7:30, is a duo show by John and his talented wife Jessica that debuted at Cafe Carlyle and features an eclectic mix of music by George and Ira Gershwin, Johnny Mercer, Paul Simon, Stephen Sondheim, Stevie Nicks and the couple's signature mashups and medleys. Aligned both in their love of the American Songbook and their desire to expand and present it to new audiences, Bay Area Cabaret and John Pizzarelli and his wife Jessica enjoy a partnership that reaches back well over a decade.

GHOSTLIGHT DELUXE, an imprint of Ghostlight Records, has announced the release of For Centennial Reasons: 100 Year Salute to Nat King Cole - the new album from the JOHN PIZZARELLI TRIO - in physical, digital and streaming formats on Friday, February 8. Following high-profile collaborations with Sir Paul McCartney and Michael McDonald, Pizzarelli returns to his roots to honor his hero, the legendary jazz/pop vocalist and pianist Nat King Cole, whose centennial is being celebrated around the world this year with various concerts, books and recordings. For Centennial Reasons completes an epic trio of Pizzarelli albums saluting Cole, starting with Dear Mr. Cole, which helped put Pizzarelli on the map as an influential jazz guitarist and singer in 1994, and continuing with P.S. London-local songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sands has released his brand new double A-side single, 'Tomorrow's Gone' / 'Burning Man', on November 30, via Spaghetti Sounds. Sands will also be sharing a visual accompaniment for the 'Burning Man' part of his double A-side single, directed by Eddie Plex. Composed, produced and performed by Sands himself, the double A-side single follows on from his sophomore EP 'Waves Calling'. Sands has already received extensive support from tastemaker publications such as CLASH Mag, The 405, Wonderland Mag, Music Week, Noctis Magazine, Popdust, Spill Magazine and more, as well as airtime from prestigious stations including BBC Music 6's Radcliffe & Maconie and Soho Radio's Eddy Temple-Morris.

Kicking-off June 29th in the Grammy-winning group's hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, the 5th annual amphitheater run welcomes special guests Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope. A glorious holiday tradition returns to Worcester when The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts presents its annual production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Thanksgiving weekend, November 23 through November 25. Tickets are now on sale to members and go on sale to the public Tuesday, July 10 at 10 a.m.

In the Auditorium Theatre's 129th year of existence, we honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 13th annual Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah; asked "What's This?" on Halloween with a special screening and the Midwest premiere of Disney in Concert's The Nightmare Before Christmas; and sang along to timeless classics like "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" and "Grease" with Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. We reveled alongside the dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; celebrated Ballet Nacional de Cuba's return to Chicago following a 15-year absence; highlighted top local dance companies, including Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Giordano Dance Chicago; and got transported to Mexico with the colorful music and dance of Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez. We also hosted the 14th  year of our Hearts to Art summer camp, a performing arts camp for young people who have experienced the death of a parent; welcomed over 5,000 students to our Student Matinees; and brought thousands of people from across the city to the theatre through our ADMIT ONE program.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Booker T. Jones will bring his band to Newton North High School today, November 17, 2018, at 7:30PM.  Proceeds from the "Songs and Stories from the Birth of Soul' concert will support the work of Historic Newton. The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Amy Keys, on Friday, December 7 at 8:00pm. Amy Keys is the fourth evening of blackbox @ the edye, which transforms The Edye into a club featuring up-and-coming jazz and blues artists.  The series is curated and hosted by The Reverend Shawn Amos; he and his house band perform at select shows during the season as well.
