Stars in the House continues today (2pm) with Plays In The House: FREE SPEECH: Performing Artists and the Power of the Spoken Word with James Alexander, Masi Asare, Valerie David, Jennifer Nelson, Awa Sal Secka, Nandita Shenoy, Riki Stevens, Janelle Stewart and Bil Wright. Hosted by Devanand Janki; and tonight (8pm) with Betty Buckley.

Renowned actor-writer Bill Connington presented his first feature film Love, Repeat at the prestigious Dolby Screening Room in Midtown, Manhattan on December 16th, 2019. The film received its first private screening for an audience of industry professionals, cast and crew.

Live & In Color, located in Salem, CT, is looking for playwrights, composers, and lyricists of color and/or other underrepresented communities interested in developing a new musical or play during their annual fall retreat in September 2020. The Tank will present its 2019-20 season at 312 West 36th Street in its 98-seat proscenium and 56-seat blackbox spaces. This season marks The Tank's 2nd anniversary in its home on West 36th Street and embodies the company's mission to break down economic barriers and invest in emerging artists by sustaining an incubator and home for the creation and presentation of their work.

Due to box office success, California Shakespeare Theater extends the world premiere of House of Joy by Madhuri Shekar through September 8, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater adding two more performances on September 7 at 8 pm and September 8 at 4 pm.

Cleveland Play House (CPH), announces the World Premiere of Tiny Houses, a new comedy by Chelsea Marcantel, to be performed March 23rd-April 14th  in the Outcalt Theatre at Playhouse Square.  The production is directed by CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley and is a co-production with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park,

The University of Washington has announced the complete roster of artists who have been selected as Creative Research Fellows as part of its first three-year Creative Fellowships Initiative. Funded by a $750,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the interdisciplinary initiative will advance the field of performing arts by supporting artists in the development of new works and by integrating the performing arts disciplines into a broader context academically, artistically, and socially.

On Feb. 21, Valencia College's West Campus will host a dramatic reading of "The Suppliants" by Aeschylus, an ancient Greek drama centered around a chorus of 50 female refugees seeking asylum in the city of Argos. As internal struggle rocks Argos and its citizens debate whether to receive the refugees, the group of women await the decision of their collective fate. The reading will be followed by a discussion on themes addressed in the text.

In anticipation of White Ribbon day, also known as the International Day for the eradication of violence against women, NewYorkRep will present a staged reading and town hall discussion of A BAD NIGHT, a new docu-drama co-written by Nicole Pandolfo and Amy E. Witting, at Playwrights Horizons, this Sunday November 18that 12:00pm and 3:00pm. Markus Potteris set to direct.

The 2019 MFA Playwriting students at Brooklyn College - Tanya Everett, Eri Nox, Arika Larson and Cherry Lou Sy - will be presenting readings of their full-length plays. All shows will be at The Tank on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3 pm.

The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) in New York was abuzz last Thursday when critical darling Ed Lin celebrated the release of his latest mystery, 99 Ways to Die (Soho Crime), featuring an evening of Taiwanese street snacks, a book signing, music and a raffle.

Northport's gorgeous John W. Engeman Theatre does it again with a stellar showing of theatre staple Man Of La Mancha, the second show of their dazzling 12th Season. This incarnation of the Tony winner, running through October 28th, is excellently directed by Peter Flynn and boasts an extraordinary cast. Long Island is certainly lucky to have this production lead by Broadway vets Janet Dacal, Richard Todd Adams, and Carlos Lopez.

Radio Galaxy, a new play by Michele Aldin Kushner, will be performed at invitation-only readings on Thursday, September 27 at 11am and 3pm and Friday, September 28 at 2pmat the Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd Street). Radio Galaxy is directed by Mark Waldrop and produced by Margot Astrachan.
