The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live high-definition cinema broadcasts, distributed in the UK by Trafalgar Releasing, will begin its 16th season this October with a live broadcast of Cherubini's rarely performed Medea. From October 2022 – June 2023, ten incredible performances will be broadcast live from the Met stage in New York to cinemas worldwide.

The Metropolitan Opera today announced its 2022–23 season, which features seven new productions, the most in ten seasons. Opening Night is September 27 with the company premiere of Cherubini’s Medea, starring soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role alongside tenor Matthew Polenzani in David McVicar’s new staging, conducted by Carlo Rizzi.
For the first time in almost seven years, the Metropolitan Opera has revived Wagner's DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NURNBERG. Considered by many to be Wagner's masterpiece, today's matinee performance gave credence to that opinion. The production is that of Otto Schenk with scenery by Gunther Schneider-Siemssen, and costumes by Rolf Langenfass.

Wagnerians in Concert features sopranos Christine Goerke and Elza van den Heever, tenor Andreas Schager, and baritone Michael Volle, live from the Hessisches Staatstheater, in Wiesbaden, Germany, on May 8. Three Divas showcases sopranos Ailyn Pérez and Nadine Sierra and mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard, live from the Opéra Royal-Château de Versailles, in France, on May 22. Both concerts will be streamed live on the Met's website at 1pm EST/7pm CET, and will then be available on demand for 14 days.
