Broadway's Future Songbook Series - presented by Arts and Artists of Tomorrow - continues its 2019-20 season on Monday, January 27th in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue and 65th Street. Produced, Directed and Hosted by John Znidarsic, the evening spotlights the songs of Ben Caplan. Jen Sandler will serve as co-producer. Show time is 6PM and ADMISSION IS FREE.
a?oeMe & Mr. Jones,a?? Raquel Cion's Pangea-incubated nightclub ode to David Bowie, returns to Pangea for a three-month theatrical engagement from January 16 to March 14. Written and performed by Cion, directed by Cynthia Cahill, with music director Karl Saint Lucy on piano, the deeply personal exploration of Bowie's life of music and invention also features the musicians Jeremy Bass (guitar), Michael Ryan Morales (drums), and Daniel Shuman (bass).

Apart from the music, I found it relatively boring. Houston's role Rachel Marron seemed of lesser focus than that of her bodyguard played by Kevin Costner, and maybe screenwriter Kasdan didn't feel that Houston, in her first film, could cut the acting. Now onstage in a revamped version, The Bodyguard The Musical took my breath away from moment to moment.
