ZACH Theatre has announced three of the 2022–23 Season productions in addition to the return of Austin’s hottest holiday tradition, Dave Steakley’s rockin’ adaption of A Christmas Carol.

The Old Globe announced today it has received a $2 million gift from Paula and Brian Powers to create the Powers New Works Fund. The gift was made to support new play development at The Old Globe and is in addition to the couple’s previous contributions supporting the organization’s general operating fund and annual Powers New Voices Festival.

Tony-winner Andrew Burnap has joined Disney's upcoming live-action Snow White film. Burnap will portray a new male lead character in the film. He joins the previously announced Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will pen new songs for the film.

Producing Artistic Director Evan Hoffmann has announced NextStop Theatre Company's new schedule of shows for the first half of 2022. The new schedule represents the gradual return and ongoing expansion of the organization's productions following the pandemic, as well as a continuation of their longstanding commitment to offering a diverse array of theatrical styles and stories, in and for the Northern Virginia community.

The DCPA Theatre Company has announced playwrights, dates, and details for the 2022 Colorado New Play Summit. The 16th annual festival will take place over two weekends, February 25-26 and March 4-6, and feature readings of new plays by James Ijames, Kimber Lee, Leonard Madrid, and Kirsten Potter.

Geffen Playhouse added three new productions to complete its 25th Anniversary Season lineup, it was announced today. Playwright Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will make its Geffen Playhouse premiere in April 2022, featuring Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal, Neil LaBute's bash) and Zachary Quinto (Star Trek franchise, The Boys in the Band); A Wicked Soul in Cherry Hill, a new original musical from playwright and Geffen Playhouse The Writers' Room program alum Matt Schatz, will make its world premiere in June 2022; and playwright Fernanda Coppel's King Liz will makes its West Coast premiere in July 2022.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced a robust slate of playwright commissions through Manhattan Theatre Club's new partnership with the Edgerton Foundation, as well as a new round of commissions supported by ongoing partnerships with Bobbie Olsen and other donors.
