Barrington Stage Company has announced the 10-minute plays and playwrights for the 14th Annual 10X10 New Play Festival, part of the 2025 10X10 Upstreet Winter Arts Festival. 

In the realm of musical theatre, jukebox musicals have their supporters and their detractors. People who are already fans of an artist or group whose music forms the score of such shows are already pre-programmed to like a production due to their familiarity with and affinity for the music used in the musical. Conversely, musical purists sometimes frown upon these types of shows due to the lack of an original score. However, there are certain musicals in this genre that find the perfect balance, appealing to all theatergoers and thus, often becoming major hits. This is definitely the case with JERSEY BOYS, the 2005 Tony Award-winning musical which tells the story of the formation, success, and breakup of the hit group, The Four Seasons, led by the iconic voice of Frankie Valli. So, I am excited to report that Titusville Playhouse is currently delivering (through February 23rd) an outstanding production of this fan favorite musical, giving audiences a production of JERSEY BOYS that is fast-paced, thrilling and certain to excite and delight both fans and newcomers.

These actors tackle the difficult themes in this play with wonderful authenticity. Their pacing and line delivery are perfect, keeping the show moving while allowing the audience space to breathe and take it in.

Sunset Blvd. on Broadway will welcome actress Rashidra Scott, as standby for the role of ‘Norma Desmond’ starting Monday, January 20. As previously announced, Caroline Bowman, who was the standby for ‘Norma Desmond,’ departs the production on Sunday, January 19.  

The producers of Pen Pals have announced a special added performance on Saturday, January 18 at 2 PM and 8PM with Nancy McKeon and Gail Winar. The show runs through February 9, 2025, at St. Clement's Theatre,

Syracuse Stage welcomes the new year with playwright Eboni Booth's “Primary Trust,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama about best friends, new beginnings and the undeniable power of everyday kindness.

Red Bull Theater has announced the complete cast for the next offering of the season: Kit Marlowe by David Grimm, directed by János Szász. This in-person, by invitation only event will premiere Monday January 13th at 3:00pm at Sheen Center Loreto Theatre.

This past holiday season was filled with joy and jubilee, and the talent was overflowing at The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas in Pine Bluff, with their show Miracle on Main: A Holiday Special. This festive celebration, directed by Kayla Earnest and Bethany Gere brought together talent from the community to usher in the holiday spirit with a vibrant showcase of music, theater, and dance. It was a cheery and heartwarming event that highlighted the magic of the season.
