La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of The Coast Starlight, by Keith Bunin (Playhouse's Without Walls production of Sam Bendrix at the Bon Soir), directed by Tyne Rafaeli (Off-Broadway's Usual Girls). Pipeline Theatre Company has announced full casting for the world premiere of jazz concert-party-play hybrid Playing Hot, created by Kevin Armento (Balls) and Jaki Bradley (1969: The Second Man). Playing Hot is written by Armento and C.A. Johnson (Thirst), will be directed by Bradley, and will feature musical supervision by Marcus Miller. Playing Hot will begin previews at Theater 511 (511 West 54th Street) on April 18, 2019, and officially open on May 2, playing a limited engagement through May 12, 2019. New Light Theater Project (Producing Director, Michael Aguirre; Artistic Director, Sarah Norris) is thrilled to present a revival of Yasmina Reza's LIFE x3, translated by Christopher Hampton and directed by Jerry Heymann. LIFE x3 begins performances on Tuesday, November 20 for a limited engagement through Saturday, December 8.  Press opening is Sunday, November 25 at 3 PM.  The performance schedule is Wednesday - Saturday at 7:30 PM; Sunday at 3 PM. There is an added performance on Tuesday, November 21 at 7:30 PM; there are no performances on Wednesday, November 22 Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24 for Thanksgiving. Beginning July 10, OBIE-winning performer and Elevator Repair Service company member April Matthis (Everyone's Fine with Virginia Woolf, Iowa at Playwrights Horizons) will replace Roslyn Ruff. Wellesley Summer Theatre Company has a knack for creating the world of its plays and this love story within a war story is no exception. It is funny and dramatic, like life, and infused with earnest warmth by this solid ensemble. Playwright C.P. Taylor gives us characters to care about with flaws that make them interesting and human, and his charming dialogue is steeped in colloquial expressions that are peculiar to the British wordscape.
