30 original songs will appear in Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies over the course of its 10-episode premiere season. BroadwayWorld sat down with executive music producer and GRAMMY nominee Justin Tranter, who wrote the songs, each of which will soundtrack a dance number choreographed by Jamal Sims.
“New Cool,” which features the character Cynthia, played by Ari Notartomaso, and the T-Birds, is the first original song from the series to be released. “New Cool” is one of 30 original songs featured in season one of GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES, with executive music producer Justin Tranter at the helm. This week ArtsBridge announced the nominees for the 10th Anniversary Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards. 38 public and private schools from throughout the state were nominated in 17 categories. The awards show is the culmination of a year-long professional development program and will showcase the next generation of Georgia's musical theatre talent. Presented by the Georgia Lottery, the awards show will air on Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) over its nine-station statewide television network live from Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on April 19, 2018 from 7-9 pm.
