The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of five Honorees who will receive the 2019 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements.

Michaela Anne is proud to debut “Child of the Wind”, which exclusively premiered today via Brooklyn Vegan, who dubbed the track “a catchy, breezy dose of modern country.” You can listen here. The single is the newest from her upcoming album Desert Dove, out September 27th on Yep Roc Records. In June, Anne released the first single from the record, “By Our Design”,which premiered on Rolling Stone. In addition to playing notable festivals like Wisconsin's Mile of Music and Nashville's long-running AmericanaFest, Michaela Anne announced new East coast dates today for her fall tour.

JPAS and Jonathan Mares Productions have announced a brand-new musical event from the multi-talented New Orleans singer and performer, Dorian Rush. This show, titled 100 Years of Women in Blues, will take the audience on a journey through the roots of blues back in 1919 all the way to today. One hundred years of love, heartache, tears, and struggles are the stories told in the lyrics of the songs sung by the Women of the Blues. Dorian Rush will tell these stories and sing these songs made famous by artists such as Ma Rainey, Big Mama Thornton, Billie Holiday, Irma Thomas, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Amy Winehouse among many others.

Celebrating the song as “a gorgeous meditation on picking the road not taken,” Marissa Moss, writing for Rolling Stone, notes that the track “highlights the songwriter's pristine voice.' The song, a mid-tempo burn framed with dense violins and tremolo guitar, is a sweet ode to a carved out life together; imperfect, but adaptive and free. Omaha, Neb.-Tara Vaughan's She Rocks will open Thursday, June 13 at the Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP). The show will run in the Howard Drew Theatre from June 13 through June 30. Performances will be held Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Live @ Peck Pavilion returns to the Marcus Performing Arts Center grounds this summer. The season will run from June 26 through September 5 with each day of the series featuring a different program focus. Optimist Theatre: Shakespeare in the Park returns to Peck Pavilion from June 26-July 13 with their presentation of The Comedy of Errors. Community Partners, Milwaukee Ballet's Ballet Beat, True Skool Block Party and Milwaukee Fringe Festival, also return this summer. All events in Peck Pavilion are free and open to the public.

Broadway veteran Elizabeth Ward Land (AMAZING GRACE, MEMPHIS, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL) will debut her new show STILL WITHIN THE SOUND OF MY VOICE: THE SONGS OF LINDA RONSTADT at The Green Room 42 on Sunday, July 21 at 7pm.

Tara Vaughan's She Rocks will open Thursday, June 13 at the Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP). The show will run in the Howard Drew Theatre from June 13 through June 30. Performances will be held Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown wraps up their 4th Spring Season with an electric and exciting tribute with LOVE IS A ROSE: A CELEBRATION OF THE MUSIC OF LINDA RONSTADT.
